I am taking to Bryan Hughes too - at least he can see problems and seems to go out an address them covering problem positions or weaknesses - not forgetting he is a rookie so he will be learning fast on the job.
In contrast Morrell stood still for far too long, kept playing himself way beyond his shelf life and should have took a back seat and guided the ship - couldn't sign much unless they were his old playing mates.
We have at least made some big decisions, and changed the playing squad which was much needed - especially the final third.
Thanks (and Moynkeepfaith).

Just imagine

We should have tried to buy Tollitt.
With £200k burning a hole we could have tempted someone.
Macc were in disarray as were Gateshead and they had 1 or 2 players better than we did. Udoh at Telford or even Hulme from Alty would have been better than Stockton. Then buy Oswell who was injured.

Moyn. This isn’t negativity it’s a flavour of what might have been.
OK these players may not have come but there were better alternatives to the mess that occurred.
Can I just clarify, you aren't suggesting we should have bid 200k for Tollitt?

No. I am saying we had £200k to spend and a bid (whatever the amount) for Tollitt was better than what we did. We were told we bid £50k for Rowe which was totally unrealistic. What bid would have tempted Tranny?

Maybe he wouldn’t have even signed!
The point is we had money and diluted its use rather than use it for quality.

Don't think he would have signed.
Tranmere might have wanted to offload him and he'd have been at minimum cost to us but Tollit wanted to run down his contract and keep his options open.
If he wouldn't sign when a free agent then I don't see what more we could have done.

I was at a dinner in Birkenhead in February and I was sat on the same table as Mark Palios the Tranmere owner. He was the guest speaker and was very good.
I got talking to him and when I told him I was a Wrexham he said we could have Harris back if we wanted. I thought that was strange but found out later that he’d just been sent off when they were winning 1-0 and ended up losing 2-1).
I said that we’d like to keep Tollit but he said that he was definitely going back. I told him he could have Stockton back though, he laughed and said “No thanks”.

He was quite complimentary about Tollit and he was certainly in their plans at that time but he was scathing about Stockton. Palios was a nice bloke and very complimentary about Wrexham and was hoping we’d go up as we were a “proper club” with good support unlike most of the other teams in the league.

Great numbers. Whats the total we now need to beat from last year?

From what I can see we were at a total of 2214 on 25/07/2018 which was just over a week before the season started last year. Possibly went up by a few more sales before the actual season start.

thank you very much for re-focussing this. Too many agenda driven tools deflecting the intent. Well done to the 2K plus for putting their money up front
