Akil Wright holding would be a recipe for disaster

Yup.

He's not a holding midfielder.

Akil wright holding.....

Dear me! We might as well put a cardboard cut out on the edge of the D to watch the game pass by. The only thing akil wright should be doing is looking for a new team.

I am very happy with this signing . He is a very good footballer and exactly what we need to get out of this division . He was hampered by a number of injuries after Xmas and it’s understandable that his form dipped . He made a big effort to get back to assist us when other players in his position wouldn’t have risked potential
further injuries when approaching the end of their contract .

A decent player at this level when fit but not what we need to move forward as a team ,which must be the goal every pre-season.He was one of the non-goalscoring crew last season(1 goal) and with a few of these again in the squad (Rutherford,Grant,Oswell) without even mentioning Wright who despite his 100% effort is a poor finisher.Critical to replace Walker with re-signings like this unfortunately just increasing the risk of an early exit for Yosser.
We did finish 4th last season but a huge amount were back to the walls 1-0s and a few Tollitt inspired shows. To be fair were not due to inspired midfield displays with the regulars all still here-Deverdics was not a regular.Unfortunate comparison but even his goal tally matched Summerfields.

If FOG played for Wrexham

" Does his job, consistent player who goes about his defensive role in no nonsense manner. You know what you'll get".
