Well his antics during games once he scored a couple.
He just needs to knuckle down and get on with the basics.

He’s just got an interesting personality I think and is a bit quirky. A team of Rutherfords gets you nowhere as would a team of Fondops but you need a mix of characters and talents. That said I think his Wrexham days are numbered anyway.

I doubt yourself or WREX01 are that good at judging characters/attitude (you'd need to be supernatural) that you can assess a players attitude based on a few games and your perception of his 'antics'.

How do you know he hasn't knuckled down?

If a player doesn't pull his weight during games I'll be the first to highlight it as you well know but lets not bag Fondop as having a bad attitude based on nothing but a few rumours on here and his style of play.

If someone knows 100% different then I'm all ears.

Fondop does have a very poor attitude, hence why he was dropped by Ricketts / Barrow. From what I gather he wasn’t doing what was asked of him in training. He wasn’t putting himself in positions on the training pitch which was asked of him. His work rate was very poor. He was late for training numerous times which considering he was in the house in rhostyllen beggers belief. This was all apparent with his GPS vest. He was sat down on numerous occasions with Ricketts, Alun Andrews and Barrow. His heat map was brought up for all his first team games and training which apparently shown him to be out of position to many times and showed his work rate to be the worst in the squad

Fondop scored several goals in pre season and in the first weeks of the season. He should have been nurtured not abandoned.

And yet despite all this (if true) still scored more goals when he was playing then the others who played much more.

I agree 100 % Phil

I liked Fondop - hes the trick card in a game thats going no where up front ,because hes so unpredictable IMO
Still think he can do a job for us

Absolutely and would have he got more goals than Beavon and co had he stayed and played more games? - you'd have to say he would have based on his early scoring form which made him top scorer for months on end while he wasn't even playing.

I agree with GarryOggy too. Rather than just bomb him out we should have stuck with him after all he showed he could get the goals.

For all I liked Fondop there’s a really interesting analysis by Mark Griffiths knocking around somewhere of how statistically he scores when he shouldn’t and misses when he should and that over a longer timeline the against the odds goals stop going in and he becomes less and less effective. Food for thought but I still think he can be improved if we can be bothered.
