Exactly. We make much more back from our funding of the EU than we put in. And Wales is a net recipient of EU funding. Anyone in Wales who voted to leave shot themselves in the foot massively.

The no deal Brexit that Boris Johnson wants will see Vauxhall, Airbus and Toyota close. That will result in our attendance dropping.

IF this is linked to Glyndwr, will this be a curve ball??

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-48868632

A university has urged Wrexham councillors to support a £60m college revamp after key parts of the plan were rejected.

Glyndwr University won backing for seven out of nine planning applications related to its Campus 2025 project.

But councillors turned down bids for housing on two plots of surplus land.

Vice-chancellor Prof Maria Hinfelaar said it was "incredibly disappointing", claiming the sale of land for housing was needed to help fund the project.

Does this mean we end up with 2 landlords and 2 costs?
1 for the ground and 1 for the stand.
If the stand is built on the spare land then how far from the pitch will it be as the Uni must own the land directly adjacent to the pitch. Is that right?

Once again its seems a generalisation and theoretical set of ideas.
No purchase has been made and no-one has any money or budget other than Glyndwr who suddenly are talking £60m.

Anyone for tennis?

This bit is very telling.

The vice-chancellor added that the university was "well placed" to lodge an appeal against the refusal of the housing plans, and urged the council to think again.

"Put simply, it is unsatisfactory to grant approval of proposals that cost significant money and then turn down proposals which help to fund them - especially if these fit in well with wider plans for the area," she wrote.

"This should have been a win-win, but that opportunity has been wasted - for now."

In other words, if you don't back our plans for housing on Dean Road and Gatewen, we won't be able to fund the Kop and the rest of the gateway plan.

That's what worries me. We've been promised the Earth before so somebody else gets what they want. When they have it, then our part of the deal is simply abandoned.
Let them build the Kop first and work outwards from there.

I don't think the uni is being expected to foot the bill for the Kop and much of the gateway plan.

The Campus 2025 scheme is a separate project which the uni is trying to fund by selling planning permission for the Gatewen and Dean Road sites.

The funding for the gateway scheme would be from a separate (likely Welsh Government) pot.

My only concern about Glyndwr would be if they choose to act in spite because of the planning committee's decision on Gatewen and Dean Road.

For example, they could choose not to sell the key bit of land it owns behind the Kop to either WG or whoever to allow the expansion to go ahead.
