Barton recently credited Andy Morrison, Connahs Quay Manager, a first class motivator, for giving him the kick up the backside that he needed at this stage of his career - ref. BBC Alba TV half time feature during Ross County v Connahs Quay Irn Bru Final! Have heard too from one source that Bakare, last season's WPL player of the year, is also having trials here! Is this true?

For whatever reason his move to Dundee didnt work for him. We've had plenty of players fail with us and then gone on to better things elsewhere. Need to give BH the benefit of the doubt for now and see after we've seen him play. A defensive midfielder who can also fill in at CB, and has played the majority of his career in the EFL and SPL? Sounds like a decent squad addition to me.

Some reasonable comments there..The lad has been slated before he's kicked a ball...He was obviously rated by some at Pompey

I’m going to wait to see him in a Wrexham shirt before I judge him. Heslop came with a lot of bad opinions from a Torquay side down at the bottom of the table, yet he was one of our best players that season when he joined us. Bobby Grant has come with a lot of good reviews from Fleetwood fans and looked the part on YouTube, all he’s done is scored a goal against Braintree, so it doesn’t really matter where you’ve played before, how many goals etc you’ve got, new team, new surroundings means he could be our best player this season you never know, or he could be our worst, time will tell. Doesn't seem the most inspiring of signings but everyone gets a clean slate for the new season.
Looks like there is a player there somewhere so let's hope he puts the effort in.
I would like to think Hughes would know a good midfielder having been one himself.

To be fair, I can't imagine playing for Connahs Quay in midfield is the most attractive of propositions. Hoooof!
