So we go with two even though Lainton is currently injured? Fair enough. Personally I think he’d be a good prospect and probably cheap.

Not if Lainton is out injured then no..... My original point was I found it concerning we felt the need to look at another keeper in early July. I was merely questioning whether Lainton was injured longer term???

The point is that on the previous page I’m being told that we had 3 keepers last year and Hughes only signed a keeper for extra backup, when in reality it was because Lainton was injured in February.

If Lainton is injured for any part of the season, get ready for some “worldies” trickling past dibble.
So not only are you concerned about Lainton you dont feel Dibble is adequate cover based on ability?

If Lainton is a doubt for the start of the season then it makes sense to bring in another keeper as cover for Dibble (who is more than good enough as a keeper) and if he isn't I still think it makes sense to have a third keeper, if we don't have a youngster ready to step up.

From the first half I saw on the Fleetwood feed JBB looked OK again, gets forward well. The centre back looked decent I thought (and he's had an interesting career so far, very highly rated 7 or 8 years ago but it just hasn't worked out for him, might be worth a punt). I wasn't sure about the winger, he showed some good touches and I was impressed by his work rate (inset worked hard joke here) but he looked a little lost. Probably worth more of a look in training etc. If he's only 19 he's an impressive size!

Regardless of injuries and wanting 2 squads for these very early fixtures, we should be continually looking at players, particularly young prospects trying to find those gems, even if they are not needed at the time or we haven't necessarily got available budget.

Chambers (trialist CB) seems very highly thought of by Dulwich fans. Dominated most games for them by all accounts and seems a decent guy from what I've read too.

Dibble is good enough to sit on the bench and play a few games. I feel he would cost us goals over a prolonged period in the team - yes. I know others who do rate Dibble, but realistically he would be two leagues below as a first choice...

Two leagues below? Feel like this is pretty harsh criticism of a keeper that has proved he is more than competent at our level.

Two keepers in a squad of our size for me - if one gets injured then you can always sign another one on loan/emergency transfer to keep the bench warm.
