Fleetwood performance
I didn’t go last night. It was only a friendly - a training session. Anyone go? Any player stand out in particular?

Re: Fleetwood performance
Was wondering the same myself - unbelievably quiet.
Official site states attendance was about 400 with about 50 Reds. Lost 1 - 0 conceding a goal in the last 10 minutes after a mix up between sub Beaumont and sub trialist keeper. |
Re: Fleetwood performance
Where was Lainton?

Lainton has been injured with a leg injury for some time. Looking at various sources we had a number of trialists last night - anyone got any further information feel free to throw it in the pot. Right back - another showing for Barnum - Bobb. Centre back - Michael Chambers from Dulwich Hamlet. Hughes suggested weeks back that he wants to bring in another CB. Losing Kennedy & Roberts who provided versatility has left us threadbare in this position especially with the added competition to play in / long term injury to M Smith. Right wing - a big tall lad some have mentioned was Vasco Lopes - possibly of Portugese origin. The trialist keeper who replaced Dibble and also played at Cefn Druids in the second half is named on the official site as Szczepaniak - which presumably is Polish. Never certain why these players can't be properly named in the match report so we all know who we are watching. |
Re: Fleetwood performance
Do you think the Pole and Portuguese players could entice members of their communities to follow Wxm as both now established in the town...

It would be a massive blow to lose him for a long period. Slightly concerned that we have trialist keepers in! |
Re: Fleetwood performance
Watched the first half live on Fleetwood's Facebook feed before it screwed up. Very impressed by the trailists on the right flank. Barnum-Bobb and the lad with dreadlocks (Portuguese player?). We seed to be attacking with a lot more purpose than last season which is good to see.

Lainton was at Cefn Druids watching the game from behind the goal with Oswell, Summerfield and Lawlor. I think his injury is minor - perhaps precautionary to leave him out at this stage. Most clubs have more than 2 keepers on their books - wont do any harm to have a look at another option and give Dibble a gentle introduction - no need to be hammering him for 90 minutes every pre season game - gently does it. No sign of Mackintosh in last nights squad - big Mike Fondop returned and got some game time second half. |
Re: Fleetwood performance
We had 3 keepers last season remember , Luke Simpson.
