Regarding Grant - how do you know he would have been released ?
Agree on Lainton.

The announcement that Grant had exercised an option in his contract to be retained certainly suggested to me that he wouldn’t have been kept without that option.

I wouldn't read too much into the announcement, it just stated a matter of fact. (Opinion) If Grant has any ambition to enjoy his football, to be considered first choice and do well here, he wouldn't have signed if the management team were not 100% behind his decision. It's irrelevant now we have a slimmer and from accounts fitter player, who says he is determined to show he can do much better than last season. If he does this, he can be a big character for us.

We want to attract players with good FL pedigree to the NL then we have to be imaginative with contracts.

Have to say it's so much better when a player gives honest interviews and doesn't do the generic rubbish that 99% do. Always know Grant and Shaun will do interviews worth watching unlike the rest

Wonder what the issues were that he talks about. Anyway, glad to see him performing so far. Could make the difference

Me too.

Now he has come out and outright said "listen I had stuff going on off the field" its a clean slate from me.
