BH did say that his targeted loanees would not become available until after the season had begun.

Our recent use of them has been poor, so I hope BH will be more canny than his predecessors. IMHO, loanees should be good enough to go straight into the team eg Harris.

Aye, but that's comparable to us wanting championship/premier league players in those positions, I don't think expecting an extra three or four players is unreasonable.

I've just read 6 pages on the Stoke reaction and I still haven't seen what the score was.

Nice to read my prediction about Grant showing his quality this season looking good at the moment.

I've read about the formation experimentation, and that we don't have wingbacks but that's not rocket science as I've said before Jennings is no wingback he has no pace and we haven’t a rightback either who has.

For those attending these friendlies leaving aside formation where would you say our weakest position is?

I await Dixies we need a striker.

I think we have our striker, Hooper. I also think Harris, Mcintosh and Grant may well score some goals too.

Any system which puts 3 at the back takes time and, more importantly, the right players.

If I was Hughes, I’d be reluctant to change from a back 4 as it was our strength last season and we’ve shipped out the weakest link of that back 4 so should be stronger this season.

Maybe with the inclusion of Barton, he could be deployed in a similar manner to Chris Blackburn so in possession he drops deeper to allow both full backs to push on so we’re not left with just two at the back. It’s a fairly common tactic but supporters will accuse Barton of not being attack minded or being a crab. That sort of thing.

Chris Blackburn one of the best players we have had in the last 11 years.

If we play this 343 formation then undoubtedly a centre half and wingbacks as Barton, Rutherford and Jennings can't play those positions.

If we revert back to 433 then we need another wide striker IMO. I believe Grant will be better this season, but he's certainly not the God Wrexham fans are making him out to be!

To be able to dominate games we need to strengthen in midfield. Wright is a tryer but that's pretty much his limit. Summerfield is almost too frightened to go forward with the ball. Luke young seems a better option.
Redmond when fit should fill one of the gaps but we still need a real boss/ organiser in the middle.
Play 433 and Carra is fine at either left or right back. Would prefer a better LB than Jennings but need to direct the money at the RB position to get someone with pace and preferably two working feet.
Play 3 at the back and both full back positions require better footballers and we would need an extra centre back. (Manny when fit would do nicely)
