Just seen this sad news. Remembered him playing with my favourite player at the time, Albert Kinsey. A very decent professional. Surprised he did not stay longer. My sympathy to his wife and family.

Same here, was very much a very important cog in the 69/70 promotion team.
if memory is correct no sooner did we arrive in Div 3 did he get serious knee injury, and never got over it.
I think a testament to Bobby Park's ability was that John Neal went out and broke a club record transfer fee for Mel Sutton, as his replacement.
