Not seen us pre-season so only these posts to go on, Crewe are regular mid mainly lower table and it sounds reading these posts that we still lack an attacking threat, where is the extra goals coming from? We ain't scored many pre-season.

Personally think we have some better players but for me the midfield has hardly changed.
We have some better options up front, players who will take men on and do have some pace. Generally this is relative to the level we play at. Crewe had a few lads who were quicker, especially midfield and wide.

Hard to judge how we'll do when it comes to Saturday dependant on the way we line up but would expect us to be competitive. My only concern is the creativity or lack of it from midfield.

I do believe he was. The defence was all at sea for the entire game.

Thanks for the reply QR yes the midfield lacked a creator last season we need a Fowler type without the baggage. I also agree about Jennings not good enough but I've been saying that a couple of seasons he lacks consistency in the main.

I’d agree with that. He’s done nothing to convince me otherwise. I’m still haunted by that Barrow game last season and will be going on Saturday with serious trepidation.

We still need an experienced creative midfield player

We have so many options up front, but will they get the ball. I hope that he gives players some games to gel and form a game style / plan - I didn’t see that on Saturday

When we defend corners why don’t we leave someone in the center circle - it ties up two opposing players, well away from our 18 yard box

I’m hoping that Saturdays plan was to keep Barrow guessing and that we have a known starting 11, game plan and more effort up front, otherwise I can see things as being same old same old - it’s a negative thought I know, and I’m really hoping that we play some exciting football, lose a few games doing so, but always look like scoring

I think we're going to rely heavily on Redmond for midfield creativity.
