Crewe looked light years ahead of us, worked their socks off and were threatening all game. We were pretty woeful, couldn't hang on to the ball and poor passing in general.thought grant was awful, redmond also quite poor. Defence solid in general but creatively a massive disappointment.

I thought Jazzi was good going forward, getting into some great positions.

Chambers also looked solid and composed at the back considering he has only played one previous game for us.

Summerfield was my MOTM with a superb first 45 mins and some good passing all game.

I want to be entertained, and the 4-3-3 offered nothing to get excited about. It was just like many of last seasons performances.

3-4-3 all the way for me at home this season. This formation will get the crowd pumped. It does leave us more exposed at the back as it showed at times today, but we won’t face any team of the same calibre as Crewe.
Good post.

we wont create much with Darlingtons input ,so its just new players and hope they are better than the old ones, we will probably concede roughly the same amount, and hope to score 10-15 more and that should see us with the required improvement, entertainment they call it ??

Agree except for your final paragraph.
Barrow could well find us out if they play like last season .

Midfield concerns me. We need at least a defensive mid and arguably a decent box to box player who can carry the ball and tackle.

Akil can be the box to box midfielder as shown when Hughes encouraged him at the back end of last season. He even chipped in with a few goals.

Barton is a CDM but we haven’t seen him play in that position yet.

Slight change, what happened to the Crewe player who was carried off.

We simply can’t play that poorly again! It was the worst performance since the Gateshead home thrashing, masterminded by the fake manager!

Looked like he fell and landed awkwardly in an 50/50 tackle. A twisted something.
