Re: Crewe Reaction
Bit of a dull game.
They’ll be more disappointed than us. 3 at the back looks much better going forward, but leaves us exposed when getting countered. Interesting to see which formation he goes with. Still would like another striker and someone to sit in front of the defence |

May as well lose 2 or 3 nil as one nil, and sounds like we are more of a threat going forward. I was never confident we would pull back a deficit in the last couple of seasons |
Re: Crewe Reaction
Sorry to break off as I had to get some garlic bread in from the freezer !
We played 4-3-3 in the first half and didn’t create a chance until nearly half time , but looked solid at the back. In the Second half we played 3-4-3 and brought on Barnham -Bubb for Carrington and Chambers for Redmond. Immediately we looked vulnerable down our right side as B.B. wasn’t getting back and they had the freedom of the park down that side and indeed their goal came from that with the wide man cutting in and curling one in at the far post. Chambers had some nice touches ,but wasn’t sure who to mark from corners and looked vulnerable. Perhaps he needs more match sharpness. Our midfield didn’t create much all afternoon , but more in the second half. Stand out players Pearson ,Lawlor, Summerfield , Young ,Harris and Hooper. Ok players Carrington ,Jennings ,Dibble and possibly Grant (still not convinced ) Below par Barnham -Bubb, Chambers, Macintosh ,Redmond and .Oswell. |
Re: Crewe Reaction
I thiught the midfield 2 of young and summerfield was pretty awful tbh. Neither can tackle and don't run with the ball either

Better in the air than Hooper too! |
Re: Crewe Reaction
Lawlor will cost us dear playing in a back 3.
