Antoni Gostomski @gompstomp78

As @buryfcofficial look likely to end up going bust, @GNev2 and Phil are bankrolling a club with no history whatsoever. Their dad was a huge fan of Bury, a director and even led a campaign to save the club once before. He must be turning in his grave #Bury

Bury have gone close to the wall on several occasions - they sold seats to supporters if I remember rightly - I was at Gigg Lane one night for a fixture that had nothing to do with Wrexham and was introduced to an old Bury supporter who had terminal cancer - he had sold he house and belongings and pumped the proceeds into his beloved club - which was about the only thing in his life he really had left and cared for - the effect of this is enormous - the running of clubs must mean a fair number can't live within their means yet repeatedly end up in a financial meltdown.

The other side of the coin - Everton contemplate spending 500 million on a new stadium - somehow, somewhere there is something wrong in the EFL - personally not interested one jot in getting into L2 by default because some other club goes bust - we should be more concerned how a great little club like Bury have got in this mess yet again and what steps are being made to save them.

Sad about Bury, great club & some great memories at Gigg Lane.
The second most valuable club in the world is just down the road & isn’t lifting a finger to help a satellite town of Manchester.
Bayern recently played a friendly at home against a club with money worries from the lower leagues & gave them the gate receipts.

Yet another reason not watch the overrated, overpaid & overhyped EPL.
I’m content with not knowing more than 3 players who play for Utd, Liverpool etc.,

Instead of swanning around the world playing meaningless friendlies in order to sell more shirts the so called big premiership clubs should be showing more support for the grassroots by bringing their overpaid prima donnas to the likes of Bury.

But it doesn't end there. Ownership criteria also needs looking at, as does proper penalties for spending beyond your means.

Ultimately the root cause of most failures in football is weak leadership and rules coming from the football authorities themselves, and its too late when clubs get into the mess Bury or ourselves ended up in.

If Man U or whoever are going to step in to bail out struggling clubs, where's the incentive to run your club properly in the first place??

Why should Bury get a handout from united whilst a neighbouring club who have done the right thing and balanced the books get nothing??

To be fair rogue or shit owners isn't the fault of Man Utd or City for that matter. I would imagine pre season is pretty packed schedule wise and I doubt the gate receipts would even make much difference, aren't they millions in debt?
If you want to point the finger at anyone it should be the EFL for their failure to ensure football club owners are suitable and accountable.

Yes it does make you wonder where it's all gone wrong. Wasn't the 60% of turnover on wages rule brought in to stop this kind of thing happening?

I thought the same.

The same old premiership games but played in Asia or America. Spurs vs United for the 1000th time.

Would be interesting to see how many Premiership teams have played against league 1,2 or lower and fielded full strength teams for atleast a half.

It used to happen every pre season. Seemingly not at all now.

Self serving as always.
