Whether a change in personal will do the trick is anyone's guess and it's a matter of fingers crossed at this stage.

More importantly for me is a change in defensive mind set from those in charge to something that looks like a team that wants to get forward and create chances.

Orient only actually scored 15 more than us last season, 73 compared to 58. If we use that as our target I think we could get close:

Hooper 15
Grant 10
Mackintosh 8
Oswell 7
Harris 7
Wright 5
Pearson 5
Redmond 5
Young 3
8 goals spread between Jenninge, Summerfield, Lawlor, Chambers, JBB, Barton, Manny, Rutherford plus any new loan players who may come in

If Harris can improve his finishing I think his pace and strength will cause defences lots of problems.

If he can score 20+ he could become a catalyst for goals from other players.

But will our midfield control the game and deliver quick ball for the forwards to put away?

This is the key. Whilst we have more strength and height upfront we have pace as well. I just wouldn't want us to be doing lumping long balls all season. We need quick direct passing which unfortunately we don't get with Summerfield in the squad.

Agree - last season's style of play was at times so unbelievably boring that during one home match I was nodding off in my seat.

No urgency, no desire to get forward - passing along the back line - give it Carrington - then back it comes - no outlet from defence to midfield as everyone turns away from the ball giving the man little option that......go back again or a big punt upfield - a hit and hope.

We seem over consumed with defence - as good as Pearson is as a defender I sometimes wonder if it is of his doing ? or the way the team is coached - or simply the personnel brought into the team - the type of players with little flair, imagination.

People are saying Orient ONLY scored 15 goals more than us last season - well in my view that's pretty massive given our inabilities.

Orient had a couple of strikers who have moved on - Ashcroft & Whittle, / Bennett & Connolly, / Trundle & Morrell - I can't yet see where our goals will come from - Summerfield, Young and Wright are all still here so little change in the midfield - where will the supply of good ball to the forwards come from ? and will they hit the net frequently enough to make, what is in reality required - one massive improvement over the past 2 seasons. Not forgetting that we have repeatedly changed the striking personnel and no matter who has played up front none of them have inspired confidence.

If his injury is hampering him then its down to others to score.
Hooper and Harris are the 2 obvious ones and then the ‘new Grant’.

Midfield will have to create more and score more.
Expect Pearson to chip in with a few and 6 last year was a good return.
Will hope Jennings can score as well.

I fancy Hooper to get 15-20 and Harris to get into double figures, Macintosh will get about 8. Pearson 5/6

Probably get shot down for this but I think Akil Wright could get near double figures too if he plays regularly and stay injury free, He got in so many good positions the last few months of last season but failed to put them away 8/10 if he improves his finishing to taking even half of those chances he could be a key player for us
