Against the good sides you run a huge tightrope playing for 1-0 wins as they are are always likely to have the quality to get a goal or two

We are relying on Hooper, I think he can get 15-20.

The other attacking players will depend on how we set up and how often they play.

Oswell - Can't see him starting with Hooper often, will be a option if we need a goal and a back-up player - may get 5 goals sporadically.

Harris - Hard to predict, think he will be more of a foil for Hooper and create chances for him more then score himself, could be anywhere between 5-15 goals really.

Macintosh - If playing regularly he could get 5-10 but hard to say what his role will be.

Grant - If the improvement is true and he is involved all season then should comfortably get 10 from attacking Mid. If he's the same as last season then will be lucky to get 5.

Redmond - Got to hope an attack minded player playing regularly would get close to 10 goals.

Midfield - How many goals out of Summerfield/Young/Wright/Barton/Rutherford? 10? Young and Summerfield need to chip in more, If Wright plays regular then he will get 5/6 goals again but I don't think he will.

Defence - Anything over 5 from defence is bonus, majority from Pearson with Jennings chipping in a couple. Chambers looks like he would be a threat in the opposition box, if he plays often then could get a few out of him.

I was confident when I started but even being a bit generous there I get similar to last season (somehow). Solid defence again it is!

It doesn’t matter who is up front if we play the way we have the last 2 seasons. I cannot see anyone scoring 15-20 goals in this system.

The problem is, the one time we have seen anything different under Hughes was a total and utter disaster.

So despite the new signings our best hope is still probably to play the way we have been and hope we can fluke our way to promotion. Which is something I’m not thrilled about or excited to see, but Hughes has done nothing to be given the benefit of the doubt that any new attacking style he wants to introduce will be a success.

I agree it was down to not beating enough of the top sides that cost us.

If we play the same way then nothing will change, we have tried more forwards than the government Brexit ministers. Non have succeeded because of tactics. I also think our static midfield is partly to blame.

To many ball watchers no movement to create space.
