Ray 'Vocker' Williams, a hard tackling right back from Bradley played for Wrexham in 1951. As I remember, he broke his leg in a reckless tackle which limited his first team appearances to only a dozen. Ray Williams, a PE teacher at Ysgol Bryn Alyn, Gwersyllt for two years or so emigrated to Australia in the late sixties and was seen back in North Wales recently before returning to Oz but he certainly did not play for Wrexham first team.

Everton Anthony Williams born 02.02.57 was a Jamaican striker who made 2 appearances for Wrexham in the 75 / 76 season - seems to have spent the majority of his playing days at Rhyl.

There is a Graham Williams born 31.12.36 who played for us in the 64 - 65 season at the end of his playing career - previously played for Everton from 1956 - 1959.

Everton ex players by the name of Williams in the right era.

Only other references I have located are a Graham George Williams born 1936 who played left winger for Everton.

Keith Williams born 1937 an inside forward who played throughout the 1950's and in May 1957 joined his brother Ray Williams at Tranmere Rovers.

The mention of 'Ray' Smith earlier in the thread is memorable for one legendary fact - he headed Wrexham into the lead at Anfield v Liverpool in an FA Cup tie - before Liverpool responded with three second half goals in the second half - can still see the photo image of that towering header on the front page of the Liverpool 'Pink' Echo.

Would have scored at Old Trafford v Man Utd but Stepney made a wonder save.
Smith's header and Micky Evans keeping Georgie Best quite is what I remember that night...

From Pete Jones' book:

Ray Booth 3 appearances in 1967
Ray Smith 178 apps 1967 - 72
Raymond Charnley 22 apps in 68/69
Ray Mielczarek 91 apps 64 - 67

Any more clues ? further name / shirt number / additional information on the player profile ?

Match played on Saturday 3 October 1959 with a 3.15 pm KO
Division 3 - QPR 2 - 1 Wrexham 1
Cannot locate any confirmed team members but Italian keeper Rolando Ugolini was probably our keeper and a young Arfon Griffiths was in the squad.

A bit more research indicates we had a Ray Williams born 01.05.1931 at Wrexham.

He was signed from Holyhead Town and played at right back making 12 appearances in the 1951 season - this player died in 2015.
