Late 50's Alvin Williams was in first team, he later was manager 67/68, prior to john neal succeeding him

I remember attending a Wrexham game against QPR around that time - our goalie was Waters, the QPR goalie - Drinkwaters!

The three goalkeepers are Golding, Waters and Ugolini.

Just looked through the book, Wrexham A Complete Record 1872-1992
Their is a Raymond Williams, position RB born Wrexham 1931, came from Holyhead 1951 went to Rhos Rangers 1952. 12 appearances.

This is what I also found - also that this Ray Williams died in 2015 however he didn't pay at the relevant time period as outlined by OP.

I suspect somewhere there is a crossed wire / information mix as whoever Mike Windsor is talking to in Australia does not appear to fit into our pages of history. Similarly the same scenario is occurring with the ex players father in the Everton historical records - of course accuracy of searches is important and we only have a presumption that the father's name was also Williams but that might not necessarily be the case - stranger things have happened.

Some further information from our brothers in Australia is needed to gain any further progress me thinks.

interesting he stated he'd returned to Wrexham and seen himself in a photograph in the boardroom, I can recall a number of team photos from about 67 till about 70 did have fringe / apprentices in the line up....
tiis possible wires have been crossed re surname...

Yes I agree - might have been a fringe player / squad member who didn't get any time in the first team / appearance role but if he did play for us he should show in the records somewhere. Same goes for his father - to interrogate the records of both clubs properly we need more accurate and detailed information - until it surfaces I think we have hit a dead end - significantly I note that none of the older supporters on RP have been able to recall / remember a player of this name at this period in our history.

Hi again all, I see an earlier post confirmed that Ray worked in a local school I'm presuming he was part time for the club, and for what it's worth Ray mentioned playing against Bobby Smith and Tottenham, really wish I could have chatted with him for longer, I think he said he originally came from Llandudno.
Appreciate everyone doing the research, maybe I need to drag the wife and kids back to Currumbin before we return to the UK !!!
