Re: Barrow (H) Ratings
Dibble was solid, great save to keep it at 1 nil
On crosses, neither Dibble or Lainton come for crosses, they practice then pre match , but it doesn’t happen during the game Even if Lainton is fit, Dibble has to retain his place - based on yesterday Nice problem to have Barton - where is he looking to play, defensive midfield in front of the back four , or ? Is the new right back BB injured |

Quite a few players were like chalk and cheese yesterday over the two halves. Very impressed with JJ. Strong, physical, fast and good in the air. Bonus he didn't even looked knackered when they took him off. Also thought Carrington had a very good game as well. |

Re: Barrow (H) Ratings
Dibble: 8 - Kept us in the game first half.
Carrington: 7 - Recovered from a shaky start along with the rest of the defence. Pearson: 5 - Moaning far too much and for some reason thought he was David Beckham in the first half trying to ping long passes wide and was guilty of giving the ball away in dangerous areas. Shape up Shaun, that was piss poor. Lawlor: 7 - solid enough and had to be first half to cover for Pearson's errors. Jennings: 7 - Same as Carrington. Young: 7 - Joined the rest of the team with a poor first half but got a grip in the second half and played well. Redmond: 6 - Showed glimpses of real quality we haven't seen for some time in midfield. Quick too. Needs to get more involved. Very promising though. Summerfield 8 - Our best midfielder by some distance and I don't get those who think he should have been released. Madness. Harris: 6 - Very quick but was a bit quiet. I don't mind him shooting like he did even though they weren't on target, I'd rather him have a go than be shot shy like last year. Hooper: 9 - Pace and power and bullied their defenders. In the second half he was very good. Early days but looks like we have a proper striker at last. Grant: 7 - First half was basically a snapshot of his form last season but he turned it round second half and scored the winner. He isn't a winger though and I have no idea why he is STILL being played wide. Redmond would be better there in my opinion as he's got the legs to get back and get forward. |
