Unfortunately Sergeant, Thorn and Beaumont are nothing like the standard of 18 year olds that we used to bring through. They are some distance behind Robbie Evans for instance and look what happened there. The centre of excellence is nowhere near as productive as it was. Why is that ?

They don’t get game time to hone their skills and showcase their development and ability. No reserves so they get farmed out. Who checks up on their progress then?

Really? Playing for Telford, Newtown and Airbus?
Keep them in house for the Scottish cup thing and the FA trophy. Then, when those games have dried up loan them out in January if needs be.
Who’s going to monitor them at their clubs to gauge their progress?

If they are good enough to have game time with the 3 teams you refer to they will gain far more experience than that they would have training with us and having the possibility I stress possibility of playing in the Scottish or FA trophy.
Only playing time will tell us.
