If we are winning in the last few minutes we may need to take it in the corner to Kilt ime...

Think I mentioned this on similar thread, link between Ayr and Wrexham on how grounds were designed originally.
Something about the old covered tech end and covered terrace prior to Yale stand.
Think if memory correct may have been same contractors ….agricultural barn construction company from Whitchurch …..Smiths...?

See the lad they sold to Dundee Utd, shankland is already scoring for fun this season. Was there not a rumour Fylde were sniffing last season.
They also have massive floodlights https://www.footballgroundguide.com/...rset-park.html

Interesting that their manager says it's a dream tie for Ayr fans. Also it may be chosen for live TV.

Yes , that'll be Smiths ,had a factory up by the Station Yard , near Yockings Park , Whitchurch Alports ground , and a big ironmongers shop in the town too!!
All gone now ,but lots of hay barns in North Shropshire were made by them !

Often thought if one wanted to build a ground on the cheap, to go round purchasing old unused barn structures dismantle them and reassemble them at a ground....

I have a vague memory that we once played a pre-season game against Moreton F.C. (Maybe in the old Scottish 2nd division) at the Racecourse. I'm sure Ali McGowen played and scored an own goal in a dubious manner. It would be early 1960s - can anyone else remember this or is this another indication I'm loosing the plot?

A bit before my time. But we’ve had numerous Scots who have done us proud over the years: Andy Proven; Ian Moir; and, more recently, Fergie Jnr.

I do partly remember the Jock Army hitting Wrexham in the late 60s for an international. It was an outrageous score, if I remember correctly, with lots of jolly Scotsmen swaggering around the old Kop. Happy days!
