First 20 or so minutes we looked really good. Ran out of steam a little but was a good first half. Young was good but Harris MOTM by a mile. Only 4 games in but you can tell he will go on to better things. Lovely finish too. Thought McIntosh was dire, barely touched it and ran around not knowing what to do or where to go. After Lawlor was sent off (rightly so) I feared they’d nick it, but as I said lovely goal to win it. JBB and Harris will cause mayhem down that right flank. Halifax were ok, good player that number 10 mind, left Summerfield lagging a few times. All in all a deserved win.

The first half hour we played some of the best football I’ve seen from a Wrexham team in some time. I thought it was a red but so was the tackle from the Halifax player in the first half which the ref didn’t even give a yellow card. Young and Harris were quality and a great finish for the goal. I don’t think McIntosh is a winger, the lad looked clueless out there and JBB looked a bit rusty too. Overall a big 3 points and a clean sheet which will hopefully give the players some confidence.

Harris or Young for MOTM

Didn't rate Barnum Bobb or MacIntosh but it's their first start so I'll cut them some slack
Thought Barnum Bob had a good game even if caught out of position once or twice he has pace and was good attacking. Agree with the rest of your post.

Sounds like I missed a cracker ! Listened on BBC and the commentary was appalling . If it was Rob Philips , Mr Welsh football he needs to find another job.
He obviously didn't want to be there , showed little emotion until the last five minutes , made mistakes , and there were disturbing long silences when I had no idea what was going on . He only woke up to give us the Swansea and Newport scores or to tell us who Dibble was. He even commented that it was Wrexham 1 Swansea 0 .
A very bizarre performance that seemed to do little justice to the game .
Please ban him from the ground - Trump would!

If we could just get another loan signing either creative midfielder or other winger the class of Harris we would walk this league! I also think Summerfield is gash he plays the backwards and sideways pass far to often and it stifles our new found attacking style. Both home games have had more entertainment in than all the home matches last season. We would have drawn that game 0-0 last season and finally anyone still questioning our new attacking style? You must be mental if you do!!
Said this in the close season that hes not what we need in midfield. If we could get someone who could get quicker ball forward we would be unplayable against with Harris and JJ up front.

Hard fought win tonight and TBH last season i don't think we would have got anything from this match going down to 10 men. If we can get something at County on Sunday it sets us up nicely for another tough run of games.

First game of the season for me, and it's great to see how much more enjoyable we are to watch now. Just more exciting football overall.

Harris was MOTM, only player who really was creating any danger and was the main man upfront. Hooper caused some issues but had a lot of quiet periods.

As others said, Young was class battling for everything just dominating. Complete contrast to Summerfield, who got worse and worse as the game went on. How he got MOTM I don't know.

McIntosh is about what I expected. I don't expect to see him start again, he showed absolutely nothing. No surprise though, that's what you get when you sign a player who is levels below yours (can we finally stop taking punts on these sorts now?). Redmond was also anonymous, disappointed in what I've seen.

Defence was a bit shaky at times, think there's a lot to work on there.

Overall a great match to watch with signs of promise, if we can sort out our issues and bring Redmond into the game more we could be contenders. But if we stay as we were tonight, I think the best we can hope for is play-offs.

Mackintosh looked a little lost. As I said at half time young best player on the pitch ! Should of been MOM. Redmond didn’t get involved. Jennings I thought was outstanding also. BB looked rusty but has the makings of a solid RB.

Agree with peoples assertions that we still need a striker that can play out wide ..tolitt looks a pretty good option. Possibly a CM too but not sure if finances will allow..

Is it 3 games for lawlor ?
1 game for professional foul.

Quality first half and dogged second. Glad those that threatened not to come after Saturday missed an entertaining night. Superb crowd yet again between Harris and Young as MOM for me. Thought BB did ok looked a threat going forward if not match fit. Think Redmond is also not match fit yet. Jennings skinned as usual. Hooper and Harris will be a thorn in any teams side this season. A happy moyn off to Nottingham.

You beat me to it, agree 100% he caused us problems all over the place.
We haven't anyone like that he was constantly finding space to exploit us.
