Just goes to show that money isn’t always the answer. It’s clear to see that there is no demand for a football team in that area. You’ve got Watford only a few miles away and an established conference team in Barnet within short distance.

The problem in that area is that Arsenal & Spurs completely dominate. Having the Arsenal womens & youth teams there probably isn't helping.

Not exactly endearing himself to the locals though with that interview and others. I've played in a vets cup semi final just down the road at Maccabi Lions that had more people watching than they get at Borehamwood.

As Wrexy says below whilst Watford are a factor; that area is very strong Arsenal, real Arsenal heartland, but also plenty of Spurs and some Chelsea fans. Leaving aside the fact they are tinpot (Barnet are not and a club I have quite a bit of time for and who have good facilities for away fans) they will never be a successful profitable football club. No way.

Barnet have been a league club for most of the last 30 years but even in the league struggled to get 2,000 a week in. It is such a strong Arsenal area the Chairman is deluded if he thinks Boreham Wood are ever going to make money. Sadly I doubt Barnet ever will either.

I know Liverpool and Manchester are further away from Wrexham than Arsenal/Spurs are from those clubs, and I know we have a much longer history but all the same the fact we average 5,000 none league after the years of failure we've had is something you should all be proud of up there; NE Wales/Wrexham/Deeside is still a real football hotbed and it's very deep in the blood.
