Re: National League Youth Academy League......
Our COE is a shambles. Should be called centre of shame. Been saying it on here for years. Horror stories heard from every corner of youth football in Wrexham, over and over again.
If it was Moss who still owned the club the WST militia would be up in arms but because its 'fans' and their mates who have run it into the ground nothing is said or done about it. This thread will have some notable absentee's. |

Re: National League Youth Academy League......
Worth noting the youth alliance has names like Tranmere in it - it is not Tranmere's youth team.
Tranmere, Preston, FCUM and others have college schemes where the players will train for football but undertake a college BTEC in a range of courses such as physiotherapy, groundsman, PE etc. The primary motivator for these courses is not football excellence but profit from the educational grants available. The wednesday games will be ok for U16/17 level but it is not good enough for U18s or even better U17s who aspire to pro terms. Its not a suitable level to prepare the better players. Its key now the club build avenues for these players to get out on loan at the weekends to a more suitable level of football and build performance monitoring systems for them. If you look at Chester's recent signing from U18 into 1st year pro none of them played solely youth alliance football at U18 if at all, they were out on loan at Unibond and Counties level teams. Tranmere's better U18s will be playing North West u21 or League U23. As Wrexham are lacking the transition through to 21 and 23 or reserves the key now is affiliations to get better standard play at a weekend via dual registrations and loans.
