We appointed Graham Barrow as manager when he clearly didn’t want it. Why? And then let him fetch Mike Newell in. Again, why?

Barrow tells the board he doesn’t want the job but we then continue to have a “meet the manager” evening, complete with Lidl tabletop water. Why?

Barrow finally goes, we then appoint a manager who was sacked for his part in the joint management of Scarborough some years ago and had since been building some sort of footgolf business. Why? What was on his CV that made him stand out?

Manny smith gets given a new 18 month deal when injured? Why?

Whoever made these decisions hasn’t even got the decency to come out and explain. It’s a complete mess.

A lot of people like to bring up BH's Scarborough and foot golf connections but ignore his top level playing experience and coaching badges.

Time may prove the job was too big for him but let's keep it respectful and not make out that someone from the local pub has been hired.

Has he got any badges? Even if the answer is yes, coaching badges don’t make you a man manager and motivator.

He played at the top level - some years ago. Has he any knowledge of our league?

We might as well of hired straight from top spoons!

Hughes does talk the talk in interviews, plus he does seem to have a good knowledge of opposition players at this level which surprises me. I think he’s a good bloke but perhaps he’s too nice.

However, what he is like in that dressing room and on the training pitch is another matter. I don’t think he’s a great communicator from the side and I’m not sure the respect is there from the players. For him or Flynn.

Jazzy Barnacle Bill doesn’t care that these 2 used to be here over 20 years ago and are seen as “legends”. Nor do any of the other players care, they wouldn’t have a clue unless you told them.

I work with a lad who played with Hughes at Birmingham and he said he’s the last person he thought would go into management.

Being a top level player means nothing though. See the host of ex top level players who have failed at management. Anyone can do their coaching badges too, doesn't mean you should get the Wrexham job.

I'm not sure we should be someone's first job, the expectation is huge (from the fans not the board) and I think we're better than that. People will now tell me about Keates and Ricketts although neither stayed here long enough to achieve anything so doesn't wash.

He has laudably tried a new approach this season which isnt working for us. I believe a couple of small tweaks would make us much more solid and allow us to build again from a more defensive style but with better attackers.

I'd bring Lainton back in, Carra or a new right back as Barnum Bobb is a liability defensively and sacrifice Redmond for a defensive midfielder. Whether that's Barton or a new loan signing time will tell.

Then the front 3 of Hooper, Harris and Grant or Tollitt can still offer us some attacking hope.

Maybe at home we could play Redmond and even BB against the weaker teams but away we need to go back to basics.
Lainton back in. Carra for JBB. Stick with Chambers and Pearson (Lawlor has looked dodgy in every game I've seen him this season) use Redmond in home games where we can afford to be more expansive and Barton and a more defensive mindset away.

I think the squad is generally OK but need to be used correctly.

They don't have to because there are enough arse kissers who just bend over and lap up anything and everything they say and do.
Absolutely no accountability, 'carry on lads, you're all volunteers which means you get a free pass'.

Did not go to Hartlepool but BH's comments are equally valid for the 3 home games. He has identified weaknesses; he must now fix them.

Barnum-Bobb should be played as a winger, and Carrington should be back at RB; but that depends upon Jennings being fit. Barton may have to play at CB if Chambers hasn't recovered, which means BH has to think long and hard about the midfield to ensure it can defend, attack, and link the defence to the strike-force.

Is he out of his depth? Does he lack emotion? I do not know and do not care. It's all about results!
