Default Re: Manager interview "it is as if we just accept it now"

The seagulls seemed more in tune than Hughes, with what they saw. One to another, come and hear this nonsense.

We were let down by Keates and Ricketts badly after giving them both a chance in Management. Sorry Hughes is out of his depth, this is a big mistake.

BH has got his badges, remember the photos of him and the likes of Michael Ballack at the FAW course in the summer.

I'm not saying he necessarily is the right man for us but there are as many reasons supporting why he may be a good young coach as point away from it. If it was my choice I'd have gone with someone with experience in this league but if the board were looking for a Ricketts type after the Barrow debacle then BH ticks some boxes as well as having an affinity with the club.

As I said it may not work out how everyone wanted it too, and the board absolutely have made some bad decisions and not taken accountability, but equally let's not fall back on hyperbole and pretending that BH's appointment had no objective merit whatsoever.

Trouble is the Board have a bit of form on managerial appointments they seem to panic and make poor decisions. Its all very Dads army like.
Apart from the board can any fan truely say that BH was the best available man for the Managers job?

It really didn't, still hasn't and I'm yet to read any half decent reasoning behind it. I think you are clutching at straws here trying to justify it, its very very vague.
Put it this way; Why would you choose BH over someone like Askey? Cheap option? Thats all I can think of.

Lawlor looked very poor before is sending off, couple of times he did not do the simple clearance, and ended up giving Hartlepool a chance.

I suspect he wasn’t and am not defending the board by any means as lots of things they have said and done have annoyed me. My point, which others can feel free to disagree with, is there was at least some logic to considering him.

They’d apparently had a bad experience of Askey when he interviewed previously so rightly or wrongly that may have been a factor. As I said earlier he wouldn’t have been my choice but if you see Ricketts has done well and you want that type but someone with more affinity and loyalty to the club then he starts to tick a few boxes. Not defending anyone or anything I just like to be fair to all. Spencer and co are not my cup of tea and I wouldn’t shed any tears over them leaving but equally a lot of what they’ve done has been good and I would worry about who would be willing and able to step into their shoes.

Asked to do it his own way and not have Darlington forced on him. Outrageous.
