Jesus we're only 2 points off the relegation zone. Not a great deal to be cheerful or hopeful for at the minute.

Not saying the reasons to be cheerful outweigh the reasons to be suicidal I am simply pointing them out

We had only played 3 league games by the beginning of September, drawn 2 and lost 1.

We were also through to the League cup third round beating Charlton away 2-1 drawing Bristol city of the 1st division in the next round
( beat them 1-0).

Turning point that season was signing Dixie and Dai ( no salary cap)

Not quite the same

Some people just love a good f**king moan don’t they. One brave soul comes on with a slight bit of optimism and is then shot down in seconds. It’s as if people revel in the plight we’re in. Football’s a fickle game, few good results we’re back near the top again. Have a little bit of faith for god’s sake and give the manager and players some backing as they really need it at the minute, rather than posting vitriolic comments on here.

How about the reason for the ranting is the fact that people do care a lot. If they didn't they wouldn't get do emotional.

- our points tally and league position are very poor yet we are still above Chesterfield and Harrogate, level with Notts Co and only 1 point behind Fylde. Solihull despite an excellent start have flat lined and are only 4 points above us
- most of the teams in the top 7 will fall way by the end of the season
- there are 38 games and 114 points yet to play for

That is not to say I'm a blind happy Clapper and I could certainly make a case for replacing Hughes now with someone more experienced but I post this for balance.

If you dont agree fine but please try and keep this thread at least free of bile and hatred. Tin hat located...
If you want balance list the failures of the last 6 years of Pete Jones’, John Mills’ and Spincer Harris’ ownership. Find the finishing league positions, the number of managers employed and the number of players we have gone through. The result will be a very sorry tale of failure and a future which only only holds a drop downwards. It will be particularly unpleasant when we exchange places with Chester.
