Racecourse attendances

There were a lot of absentees around me in upper Yale and some at least were put off by the thought of trouble and difficulty in parking , especially if they were not good on their feet.
A correct decision as it happens , because I parked in Glyndor and left early , but wasn’t allowed through and had to walk all the way round. As it happens I was one of the first out the car park.
A gloom is now settling over the Racecourse ,so only 3600 on Tuesday.

I am sure the rugby took more than a few hundred fans off the attendance yesterday.

Chester races always takes 400-500 off the gate

You say crowds have gone up season by season,but season 15-16 we averaged 4985 the following season we averaged 3892 so that is not a fact.Also before the wst took over under pryce,moss,dickens the attendances were fiddled how many times did we have 800 travelling fans and still only have a crowd of 4300.

Going forward Chester races and Rugby will be the least of our worries regarding knocking hundreds off our crowds.

Poor results effect the attendance the most, followed very closely by , never looking like scoring. We shouldn’t worry about secondary, off putting side issues.

Poor form mainly. Switching to ticket only doesn't help, rugby and Chester races on, last weekend before kids go back to school etc.

I’ve spoken to a lot of fans who are not attending this year, I have also talked to many who have failed to renew their season tickets for the first time in years.
This is not a scientific review, just something I’ve become aware of this year (& not just in the last few weeks.
Worrying thing is, if crowds fall, & indeed the club falls into further decline then the fan owned model is screwed. Small crowds = small revenue with no way of reversing the spiral!
