Default Common Themes

There appears to be a number of common themes that run through the club and our recent annual capitulation:

The board who appear to be unaccountable
A part time coach who appears to have a major say in tactics and our general style of play
A lack of a decent creative midfielder that we have been crying out for, for years
Never having two quality strikers
Inexperienced managers
A reluctance to pursue any outside investment or change of strategy
General spin and a patronising tone towards the fans from the club

I'm sure many will disagree, but something is wrong at the heart of this club. To me a policy of just surviving whilst in the early days of fan ownership was understandable, may in the long term prove to be our downfall. The fans support of the club has been amazing, but I know a lot of long term fans who are having their loyalty tested to the limits. We have failed to gain promotion for years now. I'm not sure what the answer is, but it's not our current process of selecting managers and coaching staff that consistently offer some of the most tedious football I have witnessed at the Racecourse in 40 odd years.

Fully agree with your sentiments!. Big question is, how is this changed because the intransigence of those at the top to contemplate change. I'm a season ticket holder, one of many, that didn't go last night. Perhaps people voting with their feet is the short term answer. I certainly won't be going on sat for what is in my mind an irrelevant competition. We face a far more difficult challenge in the league.

Its ridiculous how many aren't attending until there's change, the big problem here are the majority of fans who've had enough don't get involved in the bullshit so they're safe in their positions and able to continue screwing us over.

I didn't renew my season ticket as from what I saw when BH took over in March, made me question his appointment. I prefer to pay on the gate for now. I won't be attending until change happens.

I purchased two season tickets but never went Tuesday which is my lost you’d think. I always have a beer or two (you need it!) and we both have something to eat so the club lost around £12. It’s not just the gate money the club loses when fans stay away and I don't think we’re going on Saturday so there’s another £30+. The board sticking those big Heads in the sand is costing the club money with around 1000 fans drifting away.

The longer they stay and also keep BH in place it is going to run into 10’s of thousands of pounds of lost revenue. Just removing BH is not going to end this as around 70% of this forum no longer trusts them. This dates back to the Barrow fiasco, the chances have run out for them I’m afraid.

Results will improve crowds, thats the way it is.

The small band of RP brothers and sisters can vent our spleens as much as we like but the bigger issue is the bigger crowd.

Poor performance, form, injuries and constant tinkering from BH isn’t going to fix this.
Neither is a part time management team with part time training. If Bobby Grant is complaining in Total Fitness then we’re fcked.

Grant should not be shouting his mouth off like that.

If the comments attributed to BG and repeated several times on this forum are accurate then clearly we have one of our supposedly flagship players undermining not only the manager but the club.

If correct then he needs shipping out ASAP. Each to their own but I consider him vastly overrated anyway.

This is not to distract in any way from having possibly lost a manager (SR) because of CD being de facto head of football on part time basis as well as shackling BH.

I keep hoping it is all cobblers but increasingly it looks to be correct, a right shambles.

We just need a decent manager with vision plus assistant and pay accordingly. We do not need a DOE or any other football appointment not sanctioned by the manager, just a straightforward structure with clear accountability.

Talking of over complication and over staffing without adding value, for the size of turnover we have way to many directors. No wonder everything appears confused. Fewer directors would also result in greater clarity and accountability at that level as well.

Like I've said previously, its easy to support a winning team.
Some on here form the impression I go and clap every mistake and poor decision made. No,I dont. I go and show support and get behind the lads. I show appreciation for good passages of play,a goal,a decent save, pass, tackle etc but when we f**k up I dont jump up and start berrating the players. Calling them offensive names and boo them off the park. If anyone can explain how doing this helps anyone then please do.

When dibble dropped that cross v Stockport listening to some behind the goal you'd have thought he'd just shot their granny!! Perfection doesnt exist people!

Not sure if the above makes sense. It reads that the majority of fans are to blame?
