Re: Laighton
All is not well between Hughes and a few players, Harris Fm have confirmed yesterday it’s too early to sack Hughes so he’s safe.

Re: Laighton
In other news........... bears s**t in woods!!!
Player/Manager tiffs are happening at every club. |

Let’s face it, an inexperienced manager is always going to trip up, the damage is now starting to reveal itself. They need to review his position by end of September. I for one don’t see how he can turn this around writing on the wall. |

And we'll be taken over by a multi million pound consortium. We will be the football arm of the world wide organisation and they will pump millions into the club. buy up top European players, and all the cynics will be happy. DREAM ON!! If they go who will replace them? |

not only Hughes who players describe as a nice bloke but not a leader or manager. It seems Flynn is disliked intensely by the vast majority of the first team....all is not well behind the scenes. this was from a first team player who was in the gym Saturday morning.. hope it is bollo@£s but something isn't right, on paper we have a good squad better than most we have played so far but there is no clear game plan or will to win on show. |

Re: Laighton
Sounds a bit like what someone posted earlier in the year about what Grant had told them

No it won't. |
Re: Laighton
Hasn’t Pearson had a falling out with Hughes as well?
Seems strange with Lainton as he’s offered him a 2 year deal and spoke very well of him in the close season, but anything seem possible with Hughes in charge |

Re: Laighton
Flynn was always a great soundbite, but his managerial ship sailed years ago.

Re: Laighton
This is where we next an experienced head in charge and no 2 there full time with the players. not what we are getting at the moment
|
Re: Laighton
Get John Coleman in

DREAM ON!! If they go who will replace them?
I'd wager there's plenty who'd want a go at it but board members aren't elected, so there's no way to get onto the board. We need at least one person with football experience there but I wouldn't sack the lot personally. You didn't answer my question before. |

We need to get closer to the Swansea model, think they have a 50/50 partnership with outside US investment. Credit to our current board dragging us out of the post Moss dark days but they clearly can’t take the club any further, last seasons mess appointing Borrow was clear to see that they’d lost the plot. Any manager we’ve had and have in future isn’t really answerable to a full director as such, the part time stuff by Harris & Co is really honourable of them but good management starts at the very top of the tree. Been said many times that there’s something wrong at the core of the club, in my humble opinion it’s management and direction of the club/team. Change is needed if we are to prosper. |

There’s room for more people who want to help IMO. The WAFC board has to be restructured if we’re going to prosper. It’s going to be a rocky road until Xmas unless results improve. Unsure why Halkynred thinks we have a direction we can change |
Re: Laighton
Grant was having a stern word with Hughes and waving his hands with purpose in the warm up against Maidenhead.
|
Re: Laighton
The “rumour” I posted on here about senior players kicking off at half time in the Barrow game was correct. Obviously it takes a senior happy clapper on here to verify it for RP’ers to take notice.
I wasn’t stirring when I posted it and it came from a very reliable source. |
Re: Laighton
This nightmare will drag because sacking Hughes has to be the end of the people who appointed him.

Unsure why Halkynred thinks we have a direction we can change
I think results WILL improve, we have a much better squad than recent years, BH has done better than recent managers in the transfer market, but we've been unlucky with red cards and injury this season, something we haven't really had over the last few seasons at this stage. Most (if not all) were shouting for "more entertainment" last season, we're getting that, just not the results, I am confident they will come, if not Hughes will be gone by Christmas. As for the board, we need new fresh blood to help out on the football side, maybe somebody impartial outside the normal sphere of influence |

Hooper and Harris. |

Has Harris played since the Halifax game? Not noticed him, he looked a world beater but has had no influence whatsoever recently. |

Re: Laighton

We’ve also replaced Roberts who was generally solid with bobb who is shite. Brad walker has been replaced with Barton who hasn’t done much in the league. Mcintosh replaced either holroyd or beavon, who were both far better players. Are you sure true squad is better? |

Get my coalman in. Sure people would think he’s blacking up and report him but he’s got nice leather chaps and a real do or die attitude |

Hughes manages the players, it is his role to communicate and ensure his players are ready for first team action, of course his not a doctor but he had a role in assessing players fitness or otherwise. |
