If there's someone out there with football experience willing to do the job for free then great. If not we need to pay someone to do it as we're failing miserably on the pitch and the board being incompetent with the footballing aspect (the most important aspect) is a big reason for that.

Who is going to monitor the performance of our paid CEO? If only we had someone who works in HR and would in no way have any sense of resentment or vengeance.

Even if we can’t get a ceo surely the current set up needs addressing .

Not paying someone is no excuse for a lesser job.
They either want the job or not.

The problem really is lack of strategy and then time to perform all the tasks because they are just volunteers.

Not convinced we could pay a lot of money to get a mediocre performer and then pay out again to get rid.
Don’t forget it is the same board who appoints the Manager who would appoint the CEO.

There are people who have degrees in this sort of thing so that along with any experience shouldn't be too difficult to find someone. Better than the shower running the club atm.

Your not going to get an experienced successful football CEO to come here on the wages some people are saying.

Start here and define the job spec of:

A) A CEO in the National League
B) A Director of Football in the National League
C) A Football Manager in the National League

Should there be any overlapping between those job specs?

How would the hierarchy of responsibility pan out if all three roles were filled?

Which of the three would be paid roles?
A) All?
B) Which 2?
C) Which 1?

Describe your ideal candidate for each role, taking examples from the National League or below (for the purposes of affordability.)

This may be nothing more than a bit of fun, or it could form the basis of a discussion involving the Trust and the FC. Remember, the Trust is a group of Wrexham fans who want to see their club achieve their realistic dreams. When the Trust was formed, it was run by those members who set it up. Members had the opportunity then to be elected to the Trust Board, and that system continues to this day. However, there are few who feel able to devote the skills, time and energy to the role that being a Trust Board member demands. Members of the Trust have every right to seek changes when there are outstanding issues that are not being dealt with appropriately.

If you know of a suitable candidate for a Trust Board position, why not introduce him? It doesn't have to be you if you feel that you can't devote yourself to the demands mentioned. Remember too that the candidate's skills and abilities which some fans (though not necessarily members of the Trust) feel are lacking in the existing Trust Board would need to be in place already - given that it is likely the candidate would immediately be subjected to criticism him/herself if found wanting.

Is that too difficult? Because if it is, it must be just as difficult for those who already hold Board positions to perform to them given the opinions expressed about them here.

So let's have some sensible proposals - or nothing will change.
