Bearing in mind that they seem to be changing formation again, that they show no signs of acting as a unit, and that set pieces need a lot more practise , how does this square with the spin that “everything possible is being done “ ? Of course I could be wrong and they may have started at 10 but that’s unlikely.

The good news is that Lainton was training, but the bad news is that he spent 15 minutes in a heated argument with Michael Oakes. I didn’t get the impression that he had an issue with Oakes, rather he kept pointing angrily to where the non- playing (Saturday) players were involved in a drill with Hughes and Guardiola.
I can understand not running through intensive training the day before a match. But surely they should be there running through footage and tactics? I'm not sure how much they can go through but I'd have thought at least 2 hours to cover stuff?

to be fair, BH was appointed to "get us out of this league", he is simply doing his job well, and well within the 3 years timeframe he's got to do it, somebody explain to him what was meant !

They're hoping and praying that Hughes can get a result tomorrow.

You know, at that ground where we've never scored.

Even if by some miracle we win tomorrow all the problems still exist, its gone beyond winning one game to get us back on track.

The most disappointing statistic is the lack of 1st half goals since BH took over as manager last season. A stato could look and get precise figures but it's somewhere in the region of scored 5 times in the first half in circa 25 league games.....That's alarming

From a very quick count:

8 first half goals in 27 games for Bryan Hughes

12 in the last 40 - including the three first half goals we scored against Salford

I hope the board aren't looking for that one win to keep his career alive. It's a dangerous mentality that could keep us in mediocrity. As you say, winning tomorrow won't mean much in the gran scheme of things. Just have to pray the board know this too.

Thanks for getting concrete figures. We score in the first half in less than 1 in 3games ( just a smidge under 30% under BH ), there is a massive part of the problem right there that needs addressing, whoever the manager in charge is. Need to be on the front foot from the off.
