A realistic redefinition of success
One month later and this has now changed to avoiding relegation. The only thing that matters is scraping enough points to stay out of the bottom four. It doesn't matter how we get the points, just that we do. The factor that hasn't changed is the need to support our team with as much passion and enthusiasm as we can manage - it could be the difference between 'success' and the shame of relegation. It's a very big ask but it's of the utmost importance. COYR |

Re: A realistic redefinition of success
Agree with the sentiment but , even with all the support and will in the world, this team of players look dead and buried regardless.
They seem so de-motivated its unreal. Hughes et al are clearly not picking them up so the new team that comes in will have to be seriously good man motivators to turn around our fortunes. I will support them when I go to the matches but serious changes are needed, and fast. |

Can we pick managers Can we recruit players Can we pick saturdays team Only one person has got us were we are and its not working for him. Give him to end of November, and if no improvement then he has to resign. This gives a new manager to assess things in December and prepare for a january window. Sorry Bryan as much as you were good for and had a good playing career maybe management is a step to far at this time. |

Re: A realistic redefinition of success
I understand your comment and wouldn't disagree in general.
In this specific case I am accepting our apparent failure to achieve promotion, but to successfully avoid relegation we have little choice but to support whoever is on the pitch. We must attempt to show them what it means to us in the hope it might rub off and they begin to feel as though it matters to them. Something is very wrong, as for this league we have some reasonable players - I genuinely believe they have a lot more to offer than the dross we have had to date. |

Re: A realistic redefinition of success
Promotion must remain our aim.
The minimum acceptable standard should be making the POs. Realistically, promotion via the POs is our best chance, even in a good season. So far, this season, we have had a string of appalling results and are justifiably in the relegation zone. Getting out of the RZ and up the league as far as is possible must be our new aim. Relegation is possible but unacceptable. Heads would have to roll! Best the club sorts out the mess before the WST members decide to do their job!
