I've criticised Rutherford myself for his football ability, but I agree with what you are saying as most of the time he does fire up the others, great goal by him Saturday it's just a shame they are so rare. I think he is better coming off the bench when they opposition is tiring. This is my opinion I think if Lawlor had not got 2 stupid sendings off and Lainton had been fit and in goal we would be up there in the top 6 I'm not even slightly worried about going down, we just need stability putting the best 11 out week after week when possible, that was Hughes biggest mistake tinkering every game, leaving injuries suspensions aside. He scores one good goal and all of a sudden Rutherford is some sort of key player for us now? Laughable.
Get a grip, smell the coffee and take into account the other 30 odd games he plays a season where he does nothing. His stats speak volumes, he's a winger that doesn't create and scores if you're lucky, a couple of goals a season. If he didn't fool everyone by running about a lot there would literally nothing positive to say about him. |

I thought the match to be a poor one played by two teams who were devoid of ideas planning, energy and skill. Utter garbage that I have not witnessed for a long time.
One can just hope this team will climb the league as there are so many outfits like them at this level. As I said Garbage and I paid to go in for that !!! Sorry to report this . First time comment on players performance. |

Rutherford is a good squad player , and can make games tick if hes in it - which hes isn't at times either . But we can do better !! Like one or 2 others in this squad

Not a great fan of 'Ruthers', like others have said he just doesn't cut it as winger for me but fair play to him the lad never hides, there's too many hiding in this team who don't want the ball, Redmond for me has been a massive let down, you've got to man up and take responsibilty, at least with Rutherford he'll do that.
