we also have a lot more say in the elections of the WST than we would if the club was owned by chip woman, Dracula or the ambulance chasing parasite, yes things could be better off field (always can improve) and things should be and NEED to be improved on field, but decisions cannot be made by committee, the board is there to make decisions, being fans owned is not about being part of every decision, appointing a new manager isn't done via facebook or twitter polls.

Yes they've cocked up some appointments, but I'd argue that Keats and Ricketts were good appointments - Ricketts in particular but sheet happens in football and we've been both unlucky and cocked up - not a good combo, I think this is the current board's last stand.... they don't deliver (minimum) a manager that puts us in the playoffs this season, they will have to step down and set up elections.

PS apathy is a curse of democracy - people don't vote in general elections ffs, if people can't be bothered to vote in their government they're hardly likely to bother to vote for the WST board ! Also, he who shouts loudest is not always the best candidate either......

No point in recruiting "good appointments" if the planning is not in place to keep them for a bit longer than we have been keeping them. Also if we are going to send out the message that the "good appointments" will have their hands tied in how they would want to go about doing their work then those "good appointments" will never show us the merits of that appointment in the first place. We cannot have a part time mentality exerting influence beyond that part time skill set on good full time appointments wherever that part time mindset resides.

How do you propose to keep a player or manager who is offered a L1 contract?

You are missing the point. Any such appointment should not feel its in there best interests to want to jump ship after a few months if the reality of being here is below what is reasonable to expect. I would not expect a club flirting with 6th tier football to be offering L1 contracts unless the club was able to secure long term funding to support that approach.
Equally I would not expect a club with the support level of Wrexham to be flirting with 6th tier football unless there was insufficient know how and skill sets at board level.

The stats are correct and at one time I also thought it was apathy.
Think about it. "Apathy" is not what I hear from fellow supporters or see on RP.

The current constitution is over the heads of most people and major turn off with all the associated red tape. They want to go to match not a study for law degree.

Equally we can't run a club with permission being sought to buy new paper clips.

I would much prefer private ownership not on ideological grounds but because their is much more potential to exploited than the expectation from a WST owned club.

This has been the case for many many years and is not unique to the current owners.

I do believe however that Trust owned could produce a return to the league but that is about it. To reach that target we need it better run.

To be effective the board really have to truly engage with the fans not antagonise them. If they do they can move on and open up rather than keep circling the wagons.

Nice idea, but have you any idea how L1 wages compare to ours.

I would think L1 wages would be unaffordable under our current setup. Wasteful use of our budget needs to stop before we can hope for our decline to be reversed. Continuation of a part-time mindset will see continuation of 5th tier at best as the last 8 years has proven.

So how do you stop managers leaving who have done a reasonably good job?

Match the expectations of the new manager to an honest vision from the board of the short, medium and long term aims. However with the best will in the world it would be impossible to guarantee never losing anyone that we wanted to keep as human nature creeps in and each situation would need managing appropriately. The Barrow nonsense would be a text book case of how not to act.
