The move away from Gay Meadow to the new Stadium was his work and he has made the most of the opportunities that provided especially in terms of financial stability and community involvement. Shrewsbury were of course relegated out of the League under his stewardship but guided them back through the plays offs the season after despite Chester and Hereford being miles ahead of them in the League that season.

Has had luck on his side but all credit to him he has made the most of that luck as not sure he would have survived a relegation and selling the ground round here ! He does prove the point that I have been banging on about on this thread that those who want private ownership need someone local who supports the club not Rob Couhig at Wycombe or the two chancers that recently bought Yeovil.
So we can add him to the list of decent private owners then?

You mention luck. The WST have had plenty of "luck" with considerable football fortune. Cups runs, sell ons, management compo etc...... And we're lower than we've ever been. I'd hate to see where we'd be without that "luck".

Of course you can. The trouble is that you have to put him on the list of club owners who have transformed their club for the better by selling the old ground and building a new one. Sadly for us due to previous bad private owners we have been deprived of that possibility even assuming you think that it would be a good thing ?

For the record I am 100% in favour of us staying at the Racecourse.

I can not resist adding that' lucky Ron W' must have created some sort of record by his club finishing 17 points adrift of second place and then winning two penalty shoot outs to gain promotion whilst the team that finished second were knocked out in a penalty shoot out by another club !

What about Harrogate,Dover,Flyde,Sutton,Boreham wood,Eastleigh,Bromley and many more clubs in our league clubs which must be having over a million a season invested into the club just to compete with our 5000 crowds. Are they all going bust? Why are we just a mid table team Graham.

PG, I really admire your commitment to warning people of the evils of private ownership. It only we’d had you around to point them out when the Trust board were telling people to get behind Moss and Dickens, think how different things could have been!
