Brilliant post --- I've said it for a long time we are run like a corner shop with Arkwrights Till....no ambition to expand. And we are so scared of our past we are scared to admit fan ownership is not the way forward, we need to go the Swansea way..

Look at Tranmere with a proper manager and now getting outside investment from Asia because money is needed to improve.

We are no better than the likes of Connahs Quay really just a permanent non league level.

In Keates we trust

Even if you want private ownership surely you want someone or a group of people to approach the club who want to be involved with Wrexham AFC because they support the club ? And you would want them to fulfill certain criteria ? Or are you happy to have a non supporter/s who may or may not have money?

If such people exist they will come forward without being asked imo.
I disagree. the club is fan owned and very proud of that fact.

There is a process which involves many hoops to jump through if you want to put money in. I understand the reasons for this, but the only mention of investment the trust ever makes is in setting out these conditions. In my view this is to put off investors , but even if its not, there is nothing that the WST have said to encourage approaches, or to say approaches are welcome. Expecting people to come forward and force the club to accept their money is unrealistic.

And there would also be plenty on interest from parties who you would want at the club. Well you would if you want what's best for the club.

It could be that Wycombe have debts too large for the supporters to cope with and their Trust has decided to bail out rather than oversee the demise of the club. They did inherit a club on the verge of collapse from previous private owners. Looking at who they have got as the new owner they are clearly very desperate.

I understand why some want private ownership but just inviting any conman, crook or egotist to buy the club can not be a sensible way forward can it ?
Our problem, and will kill the club, right there.

Spot on, longest serving club down here and that doesn't look like changing anytime soon. Can't understand the reluctance to at least ask and sound out if there is anyone willing to invest out there and then see where that takes us.

Those in charge of the club want to stay in total control, that's why.

Would take some of the grief they'll keep getting away if they did at least let it be known they are looking as well as some of the workload if anyone is out there, can't understand them it's a no brainer.

"Fans'-owned Club decides it doesn't want to be Fans'-owned anymore and looks for an external rescue package?"
