Harrogate - Team, predictions?

Anyway, lets all get back to the minor aspect of football!

I know its an unwanted distraction but apparently we are playing tonight?

so, who fancies a prediction, or what team Keates will pick?

Personally, if he hasn't changed his tack I wouldn't be surprised to see:

Dibble (though praying Lainton fit)

Carrington Lawlor Pearson Jennings in a flat back 4

Barton sitting deep in front of them (The Wedgebury role)

Young and Summerfield the other two in midfield

And a front 3 (not that they will be needed if tactics are as before!) of

Grant, Oswell and Harris.

Hooper, Tollitt, Wright, Dawid and Redmond on the bench.

Nervy and tense game and atmosphere, resulting in hopefully a 1-0 win.

3,750 fans to brave the night...

Agree with the team

And hopefully as regards the predicted result

For the first time in over 60 years of loyal support I will chose not to go tonight in support of the DSA who have been treated disgracefully by the Club I love.

Re: Harrogate - Team, predictions?

One thing Keates stated in his 'press day' was that he had better attacking options available to him this time around

2017/18 - Holroyd, Massanka, Rutherford, Boden, MacKreth
2019/20 - Hooper, Harris, Grant, McIntosh, Tollitt, Oswell, Rutherford

Maybe, just maybe, this will be the attack that he needed to get his system to work

OneLoveWrexham 8th October 2019 11.09:29

Re: Harrogate - Team, predictions?

2-0 loss, squad isn't good enough and with Dibble in goal we will still concede whilst parking the bus. Hopefully the fans will let the board know how they feel, I'll be there and with everything that's gone on this week I predict a toxic atmosphere if we concede first.

Without a midfield and aimless hoofed balls he could have Ronaldo and Messi upfront and they would struggle.

I'm sorry but what do you think that will achieve?

There are two sides of the story re DSA both sides have made mistakes in my opinion, both need to swallow their pride and arrange a meeting face to face to clear the air and sort it out

Wow, 2 people already agree with the team.

Maybe I should have applied after all..... :)

Dibble

Carrington Lawlor Chambers Pearson Jennings in a fiat hack 5

Young Grant Wright (of course) and Summerfield sitting just in front

Rutherford the lone target man

I almost entirely agree with the OP's team, but...

Keats loves 4-4-2 and I think he also prefers Rutherford's busy energy. So, as the OP but Rutherford for Harris. (Remember we are forecasting Keates' team!)

I will go for a 0-1 away win in front of 3400 fans with 54 from Harrogate, boring game with wrexham having one shot over the bar from Grant.Harris FM tell us keates football will have fans streaming to the racecourse.

Re: Harrogate - Team, predictions?

Harrogate are on a good run and tbh I think tonight will be a pretty poisonous atmosphere. With Keates not having any time to bring in a loan Keeper I can see us setting up not to loose aka standard Keates tactics but with how we are it won’t work.

3-0 Harrogate

3-0 Harrogate[/QUOTE]

I think we will win, but it won't be Brazil-like. The important thing is to win and move on. Would love it to be 3-0.

After winning it, the most important stat will be the size of the crowd, and how they react; especially if things don't go to plan ie we are 10-0 up by half-time!;)

Just get behind whatever team is on the pitch. The DSA dispute has nothing to do with the match and needs to be resolved not used as a stick to beat the board. Hope we win to restore confidence. 2-0 please. A request not a prediction

Won't happen. People aren't robots.

Most fans don't want Keates. Most don't like the board either. The DSA disgrace from the board has just further increased the divide between club and fans. Most fans have now had enough.
This will escalate at some point, I'd image a defeat would kick start it all into action.
Not saying I want anything to happen, but I think its gone too far now and something sooner or later will give where it'll all boil over and turn ugly.
Then they'll blame the fans again as will some on here who are as predictable as it gets.

I despair when I read the crap that's on RP

For gods sake we are Wrexham fans but I feel that a number of people on here want us to lose tonight so that they can throw shit at DK and the board.

I will be there supporting my TEAM and will not in any way be booing or throwing insults anywhere.

What ever the board have decided remember that you can pleas some of the people some of the time but not all of the people all of the time

I don't think I could name one person on here that WANTS us to lose tonight.

Many expect us to lose tonight but that is different.

As for the Board, fair enough comment but when lately you haven't been pleasing anyone any of the time they will obviously come in for some stick.
I don't agree with personal abuse and ideally protest should be made before, after the match or half time. Not when the players are on the pitch.

I'm expecting us to hump it forward from the back missing out the inept midfield, aimed at Oswell on his lonesome to be mopped up by the opposition defence.

15 mins to go if 0-0 play timewasting tactics to hold on for a magnificent 0-0 home draw with seagulls and pigeons asleep on the sidelines.

In all seriousness, I’d be surprised to see Barton, Mcintosh, Barnum-Bobb feature again.
I just hope Keates can sign a midfielder who can have a bit of an impact like Russell Penn did.

If Carra is fit I would expect to see the same basic lineup as Saturday.
Pearson in for Chambers to add more aerial power.
Lainton if fit should start as should Hooper if he's fit.
If Keates starts going back to a 442 or 433 he could disrupt the balance of the side with a return to Hoofball.

Same for Callum Powell, where has he ended up? I remember some of our ‘experts’ tweeting him saying it’s a disgrace he didn’t get offered a new contract.
