Grove Park training ground
 

Ever since that video of the leader of the council and Harris selling us the training ground dream it’s gone quiet. Is it still going ahead? Anyone have details? Even more crap club communication.

I am sure there will be an announcement at some stage. Did we not get an announcement about terms re any deal being dealt with.
However I agree that communication would be good, might have been in a programme but I no longer purchase one.

The area itself is in need of significant ground works and and the associated building works, fencing, drainage, lighting etc. etc The project will not be a cheap option even with the Councils support.
Indeed some might think that long term a freehold purchase on another site might have been a better option.

It all depends on council getting planning on 9 acre for a school.

Possible people around there may have a few aces up their sleeves when it comes to planning on land previously in the ownership of the Cunliffe family.

Vaguely recall someone saying they will have an update in autumn. Which year that was, I don't know.

Still remember wet and horrible PE lessons at Grove Park School having to run round and round that blasted nine acre field. Is it any wonder our beloved football team seem under par at times?

Let’s hope so as it would be a massive shame to loose our green areas close to town. Our friend councillor Phil Wynn is close to the action so perhaps he can give us an update. If he dares to show his face on here again that is?
