Why sack today when they had no game? What if their game had gone ahead and they'd won?

This short-term mentality in football is backwards. Form is form, it doesn't dictate the whole. I can understand them expecting better given their funding but you'd think what he's delivered over the years would give a bit of grace time to arrest a bad run. How is a manager ever supposed to bring through youth or plan for the future when all people give a shit about is the here and now?

My thoughts exactly. If the current attitude had been around in those days, we'd probably have sacked John Neal at some point in the mid 70s.

Was that a hint of sarcasm I detect ? You will tell me next that his family had their holidays on the Fylde coast.

Allegedly, DK always went to Blackpool for his hols as a kid, so there is a bond!

Being serious, something has happened beyond their poor results, and he has paid a price. Don’t know if he applied for our post but, if he did, that probably cost him.

No to many games to go and wrong end of the table for him to jump ship this time.

Seriously though I don't see him doing it again and I cannot see a higher league club wanting him as he was a failure higher up.

Plus he has not succeeded here yet only time will tell on that one, as we all know their isn't any guarantee of success with any manager.

I think Fylde have panicked to soon Challinor got them promoted 3 times just missed out last season and won the trophy, they will probably get one of those 20 fictitious managers who were deemed not good enough for us and shoot up the league (tongue firmly in cheek)

Similar to Morrell - a case of after the Lord Mayor's Parade - won the Trophy and came so close v Newport..............but the season after it went belly up.
How many times does that happen ? perhaps the team he had built at Fylde were on the decline - certainly quite a few players from last season left.

Micky Mellon at Tranmere is now near the relegation trap door in L1 but can't see him in any danger but football is never certain..........anything could happen.
