Pearson appears effective if we have extra cover in front of him. When he is exposed he looks nothing special. He will be in Keates ear to have that cover. We all know the type of non football that will lead to. Keates will not even consider replacing Pearson as they seem to support each other. If we are to move on big decisions will need to be made.

I think it’s blatantly obvious we’ve needed this sort of midfielder all season.

He learnt that from his manager, who downed-tools and did for Wilkin.

Matt Rhead released by Billericay, could he do worse than Oswell?

Would certainly fit the ‘nasty’ Keates has said we need, is he still good enough? Can’t be any worse than what we’ve got i suppose, would be nice to have a target man who could actually hold the ball up!

Got to be two midfielders. One as defensive cover more than likely but what we need is one who can control the play in the middle and pass a decent ball. Among the many mistakes in the close season giving summerfield a new contract was one of the biggest.

Experienced hardened pro against a young inexperienced junior pro who has only recently gone full-time who is carrying a persistent injury! It all depends on whether 20 odd years of carrying nearly 17st around has finished him. He's from Stoke, that could be an attraction, and he left Billericay because Glenn Tamplin has stepped down as owner, therefore no money. Can't see him doing what CD tells him to.
