As far as I'm aware, those involved haven't revealed their names.
I hope he had permission from RU, if what he says is true, given the abuse aimed at the EGM call on social media.

If I was him I would also be getting frustrated by now with the failure of other board members to back me up or take a lead. For example this was a communications evening, and there is a new WST Board member with responsibility for such, so why wasn't he on the top table chairing and taking a lead ?

Steve Lloyd came across as well meaning, though a little bit tangled up (and tripping up) in the minutiae of DSAgate. In fact it was noticeable that the Board were on the stickiest wicket where others present knew as much as them about events; the fact that clearly angry DSA members were present and able to rebut the Board's claims in detail did box the latter into a corner. It also demonstrated how easy it is for the Board usually to say anything and get away with it because the rest of us don't know the detail, but on this occasion where insiders were asking questions, those on the top table appeared seriously weakened.

Peter Jones was quite frankly awful beyond belief, rambling and irrelevant in many of his answers with a tendency to rant at points. There was one particularly good question about a tendency towards group think and inertia when the same people are in power for so long. He turned this into an analysis of Dean keates - don't know how he managed that. Then when brought back to the question, he showed enormous complacency; in his view the Board are fine.

What struck me most was how depressed and sad everyone on the two Boards looked. They all looked completely fed up and their body language seemed to be saying this (the football club) is going tits up despite our hard work

All in all, fairly interesting with a Pearson type performance from Harris, a Rutherford type game from Lloyd and a Barnum Bobb circus from Jones. The rest of them were Hooper-like in their anonymity.

Oh, and a big black mark for the lady who decided to stand up and try and shout down the questioner on group think and the need for changes on the Board.
That was my question on Group Think and a lack of Diversity in Thinking. I think i asked it three times and got back three different answers, none of which addressed the question.
As the lady at the back of the room it was water off a ducks back and didn't deter me.

It would have been so easy for Pete Jones to reply to you saying .....

“ Thankyou for your question... yes it’s always a danger in any organisation that things go stale over a period of time... current board all have something to offer... but we as the WST need to look at how we hold them accountable, whether areas need looking at in terms of new board members, and how best to recruit such... so yes we will be looking at it...etc.”

But he didn’t . Instead he went off on one. Every time he opened his mouth last night he dug a hole for himself.

Did anyone from the Board call her out on this? There have been numerous people saying that the atmosphere of meetings isn’t conducive to asking difficult questions (although sounds like there were a fair few last night!) - seems like this would have been an opportunity to point out all voices are welcomed, even critical ones.

To be fair ,apart from that particular crazy lady, there wasn’t anything else happening to in that way. But you are right, it was an opportunity for the Chair of the meeting to make a wider point. But don’t expect leadership from Pete Jones any time soon.

Not repetetive at all, and not an accurate reflection of the questions posed.

I can accurately summarise for you if you would like

Asked confirmation that junior members were definitely included in the 5% despite having no voting rights

Asked whether it was right that this was the case if so

Asked why the process for resolutions at an AGM only included adult members for legitimacy so why should the EGM process be different

If the board agreed this process not quite right, asked them to clarify what the actual number needed was to convene a meeting amd if this number reached would they agree to call the meeting and if not why not, and why were junior members included (likely answer here will be to say that this is standard supporters direct approach).

Please do be accurate if calling these things out...

If there’s nothing to hide and everyone wants matters to be above board, why don’t the WST Board call an EGM themselves and let those with questions ask them and share ideas for the future - we can all agree on one thing, we want success on the field and what goes with that.

Isn’t that what having a trust ownership model is all about. Each and every WST member has an equal say, good or bad: or so I thought. Ultimately decisions have to be made, including who is on the board. But those on the board need to perform and meet agreed targets set by the members - if they don’t achieve these then they should step down and others should be appropriately voted in, and should get the opportunity to move the club forwards.

Out of interest, what was the update on the
New kop stand
Training ground

For those pushing for the EGM, it’s great having 85 members supporting via Redpassion, but why not get something in the Leader. How many WST members actually know about this ?
Clearly not enough. It needs more publicity. After which if there aren’t sufficient numbers supporting this idea then at least a proper attempt has been made. This isn’t meant in any way as a criticism, it’s merely an observation and an opinion. It takes a lot of thought and time for people to organise matters and I appreciate the efforts so far, but the idea appears to be stalling, sadly.
Even if the WST Board we’re prepared to meet a group of fans to air the concerns and improve open communication, it would be a way forward.

Here’s hoping that things improve on and off the field

See you all at the game tonight
