It was. I remember that match at Bury. Carlos and Hector Sam were a relevation and when they were both subbed towards the end they both sat down on the edge of the pitch instead of returning to the dugout. The ref had to tell them to move away.

Edwards, Lawrence and Sam were the original trio, but players like Spann and Johnson who failed to live up to their hype deserve a mention.
