A win's a win. I think we are expecting too much for a side in our form and confidence to do anything other than scrape ugly wins at the moment. Hopefully as confidence is regained from a few scrappy 1-0s we can then try and be more expansive/entertaining but it's all about the result at the moment, like it or not.

Maybe we can lift ourselves v Rochdale and take this into the league. I'm going to Dagenham on Sat so bloody hope we do!

a 1-0 defeat, then a 1-1 draw, then a 1-0 win against the same opposition in a week - clear signs of progress!!

Keates needs time to weed out the bad ones and freshen up the squad, until then, so long as the follow up to "Wrexham 1" ends with a nil, thats me happy.
With the greatest of respect that's a piss weak excuse. The players should get themselves fit and keep themselves fit regardless of who the manager is.
I don't believe for one second that BH didn't work on their fitness anyway, he played at a much higher level than this for years so he knows what's required.

I'd be more inclined to point the finger at the players on this. If they can't last more than 45 minutes in a game at the end of October then they are a disgrace.

You believe what you like mate. Of course the players SHOULD do this and SHOULD do that, but that is how things work in life not just football. Strong management is vital to get the best out of people.

Likewise on BH, if you honestly feel he was a good strong organized manager and did all he could to get the best out of these guys then all power to you. Not what I've heard however.

We started well and totally dominated the first half. Good move and finish for the goal.
Whoever put the vallium in the half time drinks needs sacking.

One of the worst second halves I've ever witnessed. Hardly anyone seemed interested and the passing and ball retention was non existent. Hoof and Hope.
Thankfully Barton was on form and snuffed out numerous attacks, Horsefield has slotted in well and can pass and cross the ball.
Rutherford was awful all game. Akil Wright was knackered after 60 minutes.
Hooper had a reasonable first half but looked totally disinterested after the break.
Grant cocked up his one on one but at least he made the run to get there.
Couple of nice touches from Harris but little support.
Midfield non existent again.
Desperate for a Footballer with some guts in there or we could have a bumpy ride this season.
Need to pinch a few wins to build confidence. I believe we've got some decent players but I'm not sure a lot of believe it themselves.

Wow. Relax.

There's a difference between strong management etc and players just downing tools and being unprofessional, they should be keeping fit as a bare minimum so if they weren't then that speaks volumes about them as players regardless of what BH did or didn't do with them. So I still say blaming BH is a bit feeble and its just excuse making for the players who the club pay to play football to the best of their ability.
Clearly BH should never have been given the job but that's an entirely different subject.

I realise that players need pampering and treating like children but I still think they should be able to play 90 minutes.

Its interesting that you have heard things about BH tenure here. I'm guessing these things aren't good from what you have implied.
So add him to the list of managers brought here by the board who were incompetent or unprofessional or both and were allowed to do so. So they either weren't aware or they were aware and ignored it, I'm not sure which is worse.
