LHAR has a point,, far too many players just havent performed to potential or past form, and must take some responsibility for this crisis

However they havent been helped by strange Managerial appointments , which the Board have shown zero accountability for

Oswell, Grant and then Stockton, Tollitt etc. on loan. All wasted money and the board should never have sanctioned these. Our strategy should be quality over quantity.

If this had been discussed with the manager then it would show him straying from the job remitt. It’s not dictating the actual players but the strategic element of the recruitment policy.
A Quality Manager after the loss of Keates and Ricketts instead of the Cheap Option of Andy Davies and Barrow would have got us up, and thats the point. It has been those two stupid decisions by the Board and then the decision to bring in Hughes that has got us into this awful mess. Then they have the Arrogance to treat the Fans with contempt saying there is no one better to run the club

I'm glad this thread was started , if I hadn't seen the ninety nine others I might have missed these arguments.

Oswell came here carrying an injury that eventually required surgery. When we needed a striker to come in and hit the ground running we bought an injured one with limited recent appearances. Maybe not a cheap option but in hindsight a foolish one? That’s not the first time we have done that either.

Well if a thread is started for opinions then you’re going to get them.

Bet he's on more than 30k a year too. That's our 'package' to attract managers and its why we end up with total rookies or failures like Keates that no other club would touch with a bargepole.

If i'm being honest, we have players capable of competing in this league right now. But clearly they aren't.
Grant can't have played so many games at a higher level by fluke. The defensive unit is pretty much the same as last season, and now Horsfield is there is certainly stronger than earlier this season.
Up front we have Harris, Tollitt and Hooper (players we know can perform at this level and above).
Why are doing so badly then?

IMO and in several others it is midfield that is causing our downfall. The players we currently have are not strong enough to protect our back four, not creative enough to assist our front players.
The likes of Young, Summerfield, Redmond and even Wright are 'ok' players in a team when playing with players of a better ability. However, our midfield just consists of these 'ok' players, so IMO it is no surprise it performs so badly.

Keates needs to get in a Defensive midfielder and a Midfield general as soon as possible though who would really be available and want to come to a relegation fight I don't know.

But if he can't I think there is only one way we are going, and could easily be cut adrift by Christmas.

Didn't Keates tell us he'd have 1 or 2 players in before Saturday? I hope they're in place before tomorrow's game as otherwise I could see us getting spanked.
