Default 442

I really dont understand it, we have a decent squad on on paper and they are really down on confidence, so why not go back to basics and play 442. With Tollit and Harris on both wings and two upfront. Take Grant out of the team, because for all the good stuff he does on the ball, he is lazy off it. I dont know what it is, he just walks when he should be busting a gut to make something happen. We need to go back to what the players would have been brought up playing. Come on Keates, it doesnt take a genius to work out how to get us out of this mess!

He plays 4-4-2 but his version the ‘dull diamond’, his version he loves to watch our full backs get exposed and Rutherford ‘running between the lines’ in the number 10 creating absolutely nothing whilst Barton excites the crowd with the odd Cruyff turn.

I appreciate your sentiments of trying something new but you may describe Grant as lazy, but why drop your top scorer when the rest of the team dont score! Benno was a player who did nothing but score goals but I'm glad he wasnt dropped for being lazy!

Benno was one of the very best natural goal scorers and THE best at the level we were playing.
If only we had his like now!

I've seen enough of Barton now and he's a liability. Far too slack in possession and takes far too many unnecessary risks. Not good enough.

The diamond Keates is playing doesn't work, especially with a wholly impotent number 10 in Rutherford. How this fella is still at this club is beyond a joke. You reap what you sow.

From what I've seen so far Keates hasn't got it in him to get the best out of this team by making changes to formation or players. In fact you could argue we were better off under Hughes. Nothing really has changed and we've sank further down the league.

Still, at least we've got the best people running the club. Ignore being at the lowest point in the clubs history, that's definitely not their fault.

You could never call Benno lazy the man chased anything near the goal mouth.

If we are going to persist with the Diamond then play either Grant or Redmond at the tip.

I can absolutely understand the temptation to change formation, but it's not going to work.

We've got a team with shattered confidence, an anti-football manager and a club rotting from the head down.

IMO in almost every way we're in our worst ever position. At least with Hamilton and Gutterman there was a pantomime villain to mobilise the fanbase against.
