Astonishing that we have go back to Curtis Tilt to find a player that has improved here.

Agree with JND,

To start improving we must go out and get the best manager we can afford, not rookies. Get someone in, with his own staff.
Someone players and fans alike will get behind and then give him time to rebuild the squad from scratch.
This will take some considerable time due to the size of the job but as long as we improve year on year, fans will remain on side.

No, but players improve with age naturally by playing every week in an effective system. I'm not saying players can't improve under the guidance of good coaches either. Morrell for example had a history of scoring goals in the North East before he came here. He started slowly but flourished by playing with better players, Trundle as a partner, two of the best wingbacks at our level at the time and Darren Ferguson creating in the middle. If you sign good players, play a system that enables you to win games of football confidence and performances will improve.

Sign good players, play them in a system that works, then with a good training and coaching set up you should see even more improvement.
