The board have plenty to answer for and deserve a hell of a lot of criticism, but you need to give your head a wobble here. Dear me. |

Re: Outside investment.
my liverpool friend, i have absolutely dim problem with announcements in Cymraeg indded i promote the use of the indigenous language of the island of Britain (well indigenous because we dont know whatb language was used before the celtic languages were introduced) my personal view is that the use of the Welsh language will promote Wrexham fc with the many thousands of Welsh speaking Wrexham fans throughout north and mid Wales but most importantly to the many other prospective hibernating Wrexham supporters throughout the same area, being Welsh is Wrexham FC,s most potent drawing power.
The problem with introducing the language into this discussion is that it will go off in a tangent which will take focus off the point that those who are guiding this club to oblivion and the adherents, are ruining this club by means of political agenda, and the sooner we get rid of this "society" rubbish the better |

Re: Outside investment.
At the last census, around 22% of the inhabitants of Wales speak Welsh or understand it. Therefore 78% of people don’t. I was schooled in Wxm and had the language rammed down my throat. Whilst there should be announcements in welsh at the/my Racecourse, it’s a bit rich to put welsh before English.

If there was a real emergency at the ground which required immediate response from fans and staff I think I know which language for announcements should be used. Re the political flags /banners I have heard others claim that the club seems to have political leanings. Is this true? and where has it come from if true? |

Although having a £30k a year senior councillor get that wrong in a public meeting that then becomes fact probably does not help the myth it is Polish second. Last edited by Rob; 1st November 2019 at 10.01:20.. |

Re: Outside investment.
We should be doing more to attract other nationalities to the Racecourse. There are significant Polish and Portuguese populations in the town ( Portuguese being the third most spoken language), and both are football-philes. The WST should really be building links with these communities.

Re: Outside investment.
The languages used for our announcements is the LEAST of our problems. We need outside investment, and we need it fast. The trouble with voluntary groups (like or board) is that it doesn’t change as often as it should. All fans should be encouraged to take a stint.
I remember being pushed to join a school PTA. I had a few recommenders. When it came to leaving the PTA, it was tough. No one wanted to commit, and I stayed on it longer than I should. There are some on our board who have been in the public eye too long. It’s rather pleasant up there! I find it really hard to criticise good people, who give their all for the love of our club. But after a few years, it’s time to pass the baton. |

Re: Outside investment.
That data is probably not based on actual fluent use of language . I have seen data which gives absurd values for numbers of Welsh speakers because the data is based on level 2 attainment ; we all know that an E grade pass at GCSE is a political scam to inflate the popularity of the language.
