However it seems the inability of the WST leadership to even acknowledge there is a problem IS the problem... so yes I would now support putting the club up for sale as we do now know what we are currently getting is the very best its going to be under the current structure. We need better.
The board and WST did amazingly well at first to steady the ship and get us turning a profit. They're now undoing all that good work.

Yes as our representatives. Maybe changes in personal on the boards since then have contributed to our decline ?

Might aswell start a thread asking whether you'd support us appointing Mourinho as manager.

[QUOTE=Phils-an-alki;2313167]Exactly this. For some reason some seem to think putting the club up for sale equals selling to any old rogue when in reality the two are not linked.

Drop all this NDA 50k fine bollocks while we're at it too. We all know why that's there and its not got anything to do with the spin that came with it, its purely as the obstacle that puts anyone with a brain off.

Say some one did sign it though, then via an anonymous twitter account like, I don't know, the Red Poison one or the one that leaked DSA info, some confidential detail was leaked, what happens then? Potentially someone going rogue from the clubs side of things could leak some info then blame the interested party? How could that be proved or disproved?[

Pointed this out a while back, one of John Mills' accounts wasn't having any of it.

Yet some of us aren't capable of having an intellectual conversation with him apparently.

Also have you noticed that one of his alleged usernames has disappeared completely from RP? How strange. Now why would that be?

That may come from football admission, concerts, food/drink sales, sponsorship & room hire. Should enough investment be made, our club could rise up the leagues where we'd see bigger gates, better sponsorship deals, bigger TV deals and greater tournament prize money. I hope I've explained it well enough for you.
The Racecourse is falling down though, that’s the problem. It needs huge investment and maintenance to keep it going.

" THE BOARD - jump in after two trips to Wembley clear all debts leaving no money to purchase players, even after loosing some of our better ones. Don Birchams war chest was spent on this ... before any of you idiots comment on this saying you owe money you must pay it - A PAYMENT PLAN WOULD HAVE BEEN IN PLACE TOO PURCHASE AND SETTLE DEBTS. Luton town had one look where they are now they aren’t sitting at the bottom end of the conference. Strike one of the downwards spiral began here".

Crazywelsh you make a very good point in commenting on the undue haste with which the debt was cleared. This aspect has been seriously overlooked and might be considered, among other issues, to be a compelling reason for the problems we face today.

A progressive business will normally withhold a degree of monies for future investment particularly if there are a number of other factors within the business that may need addressing in the future.

We must not overlook the fact that the Board is in reality a 'Committee' and as such this type of institution is prone to be overly cautious, particularly in this case having taken over a totally dysfunctional Club and then to be carefully scrutinised by a nervous fanbase not wishing to see a recurrence of the problem that continues to fixate many to this day.

This is where business acumen and a professional approach is essential. Don't forget we are talking about well meaning volunteers here and it is almost impossible to criticise or hold them to account. They are volunteers after all and will naturally take a less ambitious approach; which in this case they did and therein lies the problem.

At an appropriate point, the Board, having achieved their initial success, would have been well advised to address the actual reason for their existence, that being, to progress a football Club business. Unfortunately, they did not. It appears to me that conflict arose in their numbers between the progressives and those who chose to be almost overly obsessed by a 'Community' project; nothing wrong with that, but not at the expense of the overall project. This I believe led to disharmony and resignations. I could of course be wrong. The remainder became insular driven by the same underlying agenda; it became and remains ' a passion' to them. They are now convinced they can do no wrong, there is no scrutiny of their decisions.

It is extremely difficult to accept failure in any form, however, I commend to the Board that they seriously consider their underlying duty of care to the Club and the fans. In so doing they should look to progress the Club forthwith as a business, with or without their involvement, and not dwell on the existing agenda. Failure to do so will not only sully their individual reputations but that of the Club itself.

Its the old "absolute power corrupts absolutely" hole our leadership have fallen into. Unfortunately our club is being dragged into that hole with them.
