A special opportunity blown.

By losing to Airbus and not winning the FAW youth cup we may have bottled the chance to be the first club to win a competition in 2 (or even 3) countries as even if we dont win the league the FA Trophy should not be a problem and 20 years ago the FAW youth cup would have been a walk in the park.

They should have a evo stik cup too with our u23s in it as that is the only way a 21 year old will ever get game time at this club as loaning players out seems so difficult.

We need a youth only wrexham team registered in Wales to bypass the pathetic no compo law in england and the english youth system provides limited benefits and traps our players at 18 while it goes to 19 in wales at least (I think)

The Airbus team had quite a few older players (under 19s), as you say the Welsh youth system are for that age group. The Wrexham team are under 18's with quite a few first year scholars playing. Through holidays and illness they were a depleted side on Sunday.

Wxm youth have lost a lot of players that would be in this team - Towards the end of last season Charlie Caton - Shrewsbury, Phil ... and Max Roberts to Salford, Scott Butler to Swansea. This season (so far) Pat Jones to Huddersfield, Osian Hughes has left and now Cian Williams is having trials at Swansea. I've no idea if any money came into the Club for any of these players. They are a small squad now and recruiting new players would probably be very difficult (no money and education element at college or school).

Exactly, by moving to the Welsh youth system we can get more compensation control compo more and have youth players untiln19 instead of 18 thus narrowing the gap between the academy and the first team

For the education element we could offer courses from the college surely and give them their money by offering them coaching jobs for the u8s

Then you would have to loan players to the Parent club which would require international clearance to play in the Wafer cup or FA Trophy.
Nice idea but not a practical solution.

It would be for people younger mostly as under 16s currently can go for free as we wont get promoted any time soon so we should at least register the youth there and we likely wont play in the caramel cup again and then have a few as depth until january for the trophy and the unimportant games then the january reinforcements often leave us full of depth so the youth then get moved permanently to wales until the summer where they are kept, loaned, released or sent to the first team.

Rhosddu Red you are clutching at straws! Wrexham, like the three EFL clubs, along with Merthyr, are in the English system. Be careful of what you wish for!

Merthyr have it's youth sides in the Welsh setup.

We should've recieved money for the scholars who've left, unless we've agreed to terminate contracts without a fee being payed. Olly Marx was forced to stay having signed one.
